This can either be followed by a noun, in the accusative case for concrete things or in the genitive case for mass\/abstract nouns, or by an infinitive.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u042f \u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443\u0301 \u043d\u043e\u0301\u0432\u0443\u044e \u043c\u0430\u0448\u0438\u0301\u043d\u0443 (I want a new car).<\/li>\n<li>\u042f \u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443\u0301 \u043c\u043e\u043b\u043e\u043a\u0430\u0301 (I want some milk).<\/li>\n<li>\u042f \u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443\u0301 \u0441\u043f\u0430\u0442\u044c (I&#8217;m sleepy = &#8220;I want to sleep&#8221;).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can also express your wishes for other people using \u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443 followed by \u0447\u0442\u043e\u0431\u044b + noun + verb in the past tense (technically, this is the subjunctive mood, but it looks exactly like the past tense).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u042f \u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443\u0301, \u0447\u0442\u043e\u0301\u0431\u044b \u043f\u043e\u043a\u0430\u0437\u0430\u0301\u043b\u043e\u0441\u044c \u0441\u043e\u0301\u043b\u043d\u0446\u0435 (I want the sun to come out).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note the irregular conjugation of \u0445\u043e\u0442\u0435\u0442\u044c.<\/p>\n<table>\n<colgroup>\n<col span=\"4\" \/> <\/colgroup>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\u044f<\/td>\n<td>\u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443\u0301<\/td>\n<td>\u043c\u044b<\/td>\n<td>\u0445\u043e\u0442\u0438\u0301\u043c<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\u0442\u044b<\/td>\n<td>\u0445\u043e\u0301\u0447\u0435\u0448\u044c<\/td>\n<td>\u0432\u044b<\/td>\n<td>\u0445\u043e\u0442\u0438\u0301\u0442\u0435<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>\u043e\u043d\/\u0430\/\u043e<\/td>\n<td>\u0445\u043e\u0301\u0447\u0435\u0442<\/td>\n<td>\u043e\u043d\u0438<\/td>\n<td>\u0445\u043e\u0442\u044f\u0301\u0442<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2>\u041c\u043d\u0435 \u0445<span style=\"color: #33cccc\">\u043e<\/span>\u0447\u0435\u0442\u0441\u044f<\/h2>\n<p>This construction is synonymous with \u044f \u0445\u043e\u0447\u0443, but as you see, \u043c\u043d\u0435 is technically the object here. In other words, this phrase sounds a bit more passive. It is commonly used followed by the genitive case or an infinitive. In this case, however, \u043e\u0445\u043e\u0442\u0430 functions as the predicate (&#8220;verb&#8221;) of the sentence and loosely translates as &#8220;I feel like doing something.&#8221; Normally, it is followed by an infinitive.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2015 \u0418 \u043e\u0445\u043e\u0301\u0442\u0430 \u0432\u0430\u043c \u0432\u0440\u0435\u0301\u043c\u044f \u0442\u0435\u0440\u044f\u0301\u0442\u044c? (Do you really want to waste your time?) [\u0410\u043b\u0435\u043a\u0441\u0435\u0439 \u0421\u043b\u0430\u043f\u043e\u0432\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439. \u0413\u0438\u0431\u0435\u043b\u044c \u0433\u0438\u0442\u0430\u0440\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0430 (1994-1995)]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The opposite of \u043e\u0445\u043e\u0442\u0430 is \u043d\u0435\u043e\u0445\u043e\u0301\u0442\u0430.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u041c\u043d\u0435 \u043d\u0435\u043e\u0445\u043e\u0301\u0442\u0430 \u0432\u0441\u0442\u0430\u0432\u0430\u0301\u0442\u044c (I don&#8217;t feel like getting up).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>What other ways do you know of talking about what you want to do?
