So I thought it might not be a bad idea to go over some key privacy concepts in Russian. Be it as it may for personal space or intimate matters, for talking about privacy online, the word <strong>\u043a\u043e\u043d\u0444\u0438\u0434\u0435\u043d\u0446\u0438<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u044c\u043d\u043e\u0441\u0442\u044c<\/strong> has been adopted. It is, quite obviously, a borrowing from Latin and a cognate of confidentiality. The adjective <strong>\u043b<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0438<\/span>\u0447\u043d<\/strong><strong>\u044b\u0439<\/strong>comes from <strong>\u043b\u0438\u0446<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u043e<\/span><\/strong>, face, and means personal: <strong>\u043b<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0438<\/span>\u0447\u043d\u043e\u0435 \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0440<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0430<\/span>\u043d\u0441\u0442\u0432\u043e<\/strong> (personal space), <strong>\u043b<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0438<\/span>\u0447\u043d<\/strong><strong>\u044b\u0439 <span style=\"color: #339966\">\u043e<\/span>\u043f\u044b\u0442<\/strong> (personal experience), <strong>\u043b<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0438<\/span>\u0447\u043d<\/strong><strong>\u0430\u044f \u0432\u0441\u0442\u0440<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0435<\/span>\u0447\u0430<\/strong> (in-person meeting). <strong>\u041f\u0435\u0440\u0441\u043e\u043d<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u044c\u043d\u044b\u0439<\/strong> means personal, too, but its applications are more limited.
