Many of his stories were made into cartoons that many speakers of Russian (not only in Russia!) grew up on. In addition, he wrote the screenplays to many cartoons. Cheburashka does not fit in anywhere and is eventually &#8220;adopted&#8221; by the lonely zoo crocodile named Gena (\u043a\u0440\u043e\u043a\u043e\u0434\u0438\u0301\u043b \u0413\u0435\u0301\u043d\u0430). I&#8217;ve even read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tabletmag.com\/jewish-arts-and-culture\/260892\/cheburashka-soviet-animation\">an article<\/a> suggesting that Cheburashka&#8217;s &#8220;otherness&#8221; represented the experience of Soviet Jews.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0Xrr9mcdFvw<\/p>\n<h2>\u041f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0442\u043e\u043a\u0432\u0430\u0301\u0448\u0438\u043d\u043e<\/h2>\n<p>Another famous series of cartoons based on Uspensky&#8217;s stories describes the adventures of a young boy named Uncle Fyodor (\u0434\u044f\u0301\u0434\u044f \u0424\u0451\u0434\u043e\u0440) in a village (\u0434\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0301\u0432\u043d\u044f) called Prostokvashino (\u041f\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0442\u043e\u043a\u0432\u0430\u0301\u0448\u0438\u043d\u043e). When his parents refuse to let him keep a stray cat as a pet, he leaves to go to the family&#8217;s country house with the cat, and all sorts of adventures ensue.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/youtu.be\/FOebKn_WhI0<\/p>\n<h2>\u041e\u0441\u044c\u043c\u0438\u043d\u043e\u0436\u043a\u0438<\/h2>\n<p>A lesser known but fun cartoon is \u041e\u0441\u044c\u043c\u0438\u043d\u043e\u0301\u0436\u043a\u0438 (Octopuses).
