Later, two civilians and a police officer (\u043f\u043e\u043b\u0438\u0446\u0435\u0301\u0439\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439) were poisoned, and one of these people victims died.<\/p>\n<h2>Whodunit?<\/h2>\n<p>UK authorities released CCTV images of two Russian nationals who were accused of poisoning the Skripals. The alleged perpetrators&#8217; names were Aleksandr Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov (\u0410\u043b\u0435\u043a\u0441\u0430\u0301\u043d\u0434\u0440 \u041f\u0435\u0442\u0440\u043e\u0301\u0432 \u0438 \u0420\u0443\u0441\u043b\u0430\u0301\u043d \u0411\u043e\u0448\u0438\u0301\u0440\u043e\u0432), although the police emphasized that these names could be fake. They claimed they were regular tourists (\u0442\u0443\u0440\u0438\u0301\u0441\u0442\u044b) enticed by the Salisbury cathedral and had nothing to do with the poisoning. The Russian internet found their stilted descriptions of the &#8220;123-meter spire&#8221; (\u0448\u043f\u0438\u043b\u044c) odd for tourists and <a href=\"https:\/\/snob.ru\/entry\/165651\">erupted in memes and parodies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The investigative outlet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bellingcat.com\/tag\/skripal\/\">Bellingcat<\/a> has since gone through images of military academy graduates and through the biographical details of the supposed &#8220;Petrov&#8221; and &#8220;Boshirov.&#8221; Based on this information, they claim to have established the real identities of the two men \u2014 Aleksandr Mishkin and Anatoly Chepiga (\u0410\u043b\u0435\u043a\u0441\u0430\u0301\u043d\u0434\u0440 \u041c\u0438\u0301\u0448\u043a\u0438\u043d \u0438 \u0410\u043d\u0430\u0442\u043e\u0301\u043b\u0438\u0439 \u0427\u0435\u043f\u0438\u0301\u0433\u0430). This has been a very murky story, indeed, but it has also showed the power of investigative journalism and holding governments accountable.
