We will look at the detailed results of this survey and some possible explanations. The question was worded as follows: &#8220;<strong>\u0421\u043e\u0436\u0430\u043b\u0435\u0301\u0435\u0442\u0435 \u043b\u0438 \u0412\u044b \u043e \u0440\u0430\u0441\u043f\u0430\u0301\u0434\u0435 \u0421\u0421\u0421\u0420?<\/strong>&#8221; (Do you regret the break-up of the USSR<em>?<\/em>) Twenty five percent of respondents (<strong>\u0440\u0435\u0441\u043f\u043e\u043d\u0434\u0435\u0301\u043d\u0442\u044b<\/strong>) said they did not, and 9 percent were unsure.<\/p>\n<p>Levada Center has been asking this question since 1992. Another interesting finding was that the number of people who missed the USSR has gone up since last year and is now the higher than at any point since 2005.<\/p>\n<p>When asked whether the breakup of the USSR was inevitable, 62 percent said it could have been prevented, and 27 percent said it couldn&#8217;t have. The 18-24 age group was the only one with more people who did not care about the end of the Soviet Union than those who did, and that has been true since the year 2002. However, the nostalgia (<strong>\u043d\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0430\u043b\u044c\u0433\u0438\u0301\u044f<\/strong>) for the USSR has gone up across all age groups.<\/p>\n<p>What do you find these results scary, or do they make sense to you?
