It was created in 1949 by Gustave Tops, a Belgian <em>bartender<\/em> (<em>\u0431\u0430\u0440\u043c\u0435\u043d<\/em>). The cocktail recipe is simple: for five parts of <em>vodka <\/em>(<em>\u0432\u043e\u0434\u043a\u0430<\/em>), you need to add two parts of <em>coffee liqueur<\/em> (<em>\u043a\u043e\u0444\u0435\u0439\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u043b\u0438\u043a\u0451\u0440<\/em>) and <em>ice<\/em> (<em>\u043b\u0451\u0434<\/em>). However, there are many variations of this drink. As a rule, such a cocktail is served in an old fashion <em>glass<\/em> (<em>\u0441\u0442\u0430\u043a\u0430\u043d<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Of course, it is very interesting where this strange name came from. The &#8220;Russian&#8221; part of the name refers to vodka. Interestingly, these two words became a direct association of each other. And &#8220;Black&#8221; banal means the <em>color<\/em> (<em>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442<\/em>) of coffee liqueur.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\">White Russian <span lang=\"en-US\">&#8211; \u0411\u0435\u043b\u044b\u0439 \u0440\u0443\u0441\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A native or resident of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Belarus\">Republic of Belarus<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>(<em>\u0420\u0435\u0441\u043f\u0443\u0431\u043b\u0438\u043a\u0430 \u0411\u0435\u043b\u0430\u0440\u0443\u0441\u044c<\/em>). Actually, it was a joke.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, to this day, there are <a href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/\u0418\u043c\u0435\u043d\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0438\u0435_\u0431\u0435\u043b\u043e\u0440\u0443\u0441\u0441\u043a\u043e\u0433\u043e_\u0433\u043e\u0441\u0443\u0434\u0430\u0440\u0441\u0442\u0432\u0430_\u043d\u0430_\u0440\u0443\u0441\u0441\u043a\u043e\u043c_\u044f\u0437\u044b\u043a\u0435#\u0411\u0435\u043b\u043e\u0440\u0443\u0441\u0441\u043a\u043e-\u0440\u043e\u0441\u0441\u0438\u0439\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0435_\u0434\u0438\u0441\u043a\u0443\u0441\u0441\u0438\u0438\">disputes<\/a> over the name of the republic. In Belarusian, it is called \u0411\u0435\u043b\u0430\u0440\u0443\u0441\u044c (Belarus). However, in Russian, its old name &#8211; \u0411\u0435\u043b\u043e\u0440\u0443\u0441\u0441\u0438\u044f &#8211; is still used. As it became clear, this word consists of two: &#8220;\u0431\u0435\u043b\u044b\u0439 (white)&#8221; and &#8220;\u0440\u0443\u0441 (from &#8220;<em><strong>\u0440\u0443\u0441<\/strong>\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0439<\/em>&#8221; &#8211; <em>Russian<\/em>).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Everything is much simpler &#8211; &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/White_Russian_(cocktail)\">White Russian<\/a>&#8221; is also a cocktail. It was invented in the 1960s in the United States. By the way, it became popular after the <em>movie<\/em> (<em>\u0444\u0438\u043b\u044c\u043c<\/em>) &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Big_Lebowski\">The Big Lebowski,<\/a>&#8221; where that cocktail was the main character&#8217;s favorite <em>drink<\/em> (<em>\u043d\u0430\u043f\u0438\u0442\u043e\u043a<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>If you add cream and slightly change the quantities to &#8220;Black Russian,&#8221; you get &#8220;White Russian.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>By the way, Russians never add vodka to <em>coffee<\/em> (<em>\u043a\u043e\u0444\u0435<\/em>). However, a cocktail with cognac in coffee became very popular. Today, this refers to the <em>lipstick<\/em> (<em>\u043f\u043e\u043c\u0430\u0434\u0430<\/em>) color. Indeed, red played a massive role in the Soviet Union times. The red <em>flag<\/em> (<em>\u0444\u043b\u0430\u0433<\/em>), <em>Red Army<\/em> (<em>\u041a\u0440\u0430\u0441\u043d\u0430\u044f \u0430\u0440\u043c\u0438\u044f<\/em>),<em> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Soviet_Navy\">Red Fleet<\/a> <\/em>(<em>\u041a\u0440\u0430\u0441\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u0444\u043b\u043e\u0442<\/em>), <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Red_Square\">Red Square<\/a><\/em> (<em>\u041a\u0440\u0430\u0441\u043d\u0430\u044f \u043f\u043b\u043e\u0449\u0430\u0434\u044c<\/em>). Once in a restaurant, I had to eat a strange salad with potatoes and some kind of white sauce. It <span lang=\"en-US\">i<\/span>s funny that it was called Russian. In fact, it was more like just a potato salad. In addition, any Russian feast always ends with tea.<\/p>\n<p>It is still not known precisely why this tea is called Russian. Some people say that it goes back to Soviet times. Supposedly, the tea was of poor quality, so the lemon overpowered the bad taste. Others think that the upper-class Russians preferred to drink tea with lemon in the mornings. According to one legend, two Cossack <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ataman\">Atamans<\/a> brought it from China. Another legend says that this recipe has nothing to do with Russia at all. Instead, it was from some <em>church<\/em> (<em>\u0446\u0435\u0440\u043a\u043e\u0432\u044c<\/em>) <em>cookbooks<\/em> (<em>\u043f\u043e\u0432\u0430\u0440\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044b\u0435 \u043a\u043d\u0438\u0433\u0438<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>By the way, did you know that many Russians drink tea with a <em>teaspoon<\/em> (<em>\u0447\u0430\u0439\u043d\u0430\u044f \u043b\u043e\u0436\u043a\u0430<\/em>) in a <em>mug<\/em> (<em>\u043a\u0440\u0443\u0436\u043a\u0430<\/em>)?
