If only I could have those afternoon naps in kindergarten and 9pm kids bedtime shows.<\/p>\n

Speaking of which, I would like to share a beloved Russian TV show for kids \u0421\u043f\u043e\u043a\u043e\u0301\u0439\u043d\u043e\u0439 \u043d\u043e\u0301\u0447\u0438, \u041c\u0430\u043b\u044b\u0448\u0438\u0301!<\/strong>2<\/a><\/sup>Goodnight, Little ones!<\/span> and a few Russian lullabies that I grew up with. Lullabies are a delightful way to get connected with the culture and the language you are learning. Those melodies and words are the ones that a form a nurturing connection and a strong bond between a baby and its parents. Likewise, you can find a new appreciation for the beautiful melodies and the vocabulary you are learning in Russian.<\/p>\n

\u041a\u043e\u043b\u044b\u0431\u0435\u0301\u043b\u044c\u043d\u044b\u0435 \u043f\u0435\u0301\u0441\u043d\u0438<\/strong>3<\/a><\/sup>lullaby songs<\/span> comes from the word \u043a\u043e\u043b\u044b\u0431\u0435\u0301\u043b\u044c<\/strong> (sometimes referred to as \u2018\u043b\u044e\u0301\u043b\u044c\u043a\u0430<\/strong>\u2019), which is a cradle, also known as a rocker or bassinet. People rarely use this word in day-to-day conversations these days but it evokes the most comforting and soothing images. I suspect that the soft Russian \u043b sound has a lot to do with it, since two of the most nurturing words share that softness, as in \u043b\u044e\u0431\u043e\u0301\u0432\u044c<\/strong>4<\/a><\/sup>love<\/span> and \u043b\u0430\u0301\u0441\u043a\u0430<\/strong>5<\/a><\/sup>tenderness or endearment<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The TV show<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This is \u0421\u043f\u043e\u043a\u043e\u0439\u043d\u043e\u0439<\/strong> \u041d\u043e\u0447\u0438<\/strong>, <\/strong>\u041c\u0430\u043b\u044b\u0448\u0438<\/strong>!<\/strong><\/a> just as I remember it when I was five.<\/p>\n

All the episodes have the same format like the one above. The \u2018adult\u2019 host and the other puppet characters, (here we have the piglet \u0425\u0440\u044e\u0448\u0430<\/strong> and the dog \u0424\u0438\u043b\u044f<\/strong>) are dealing with some kind of problem or talking about toys and such. Either way, the content is very informative or educational in some type of way. And at the end, there is always a little cartoon or a part of a movie for kids. The show still airs today and has been helping kids (and parents) get ready for bed since 1964.<\/p>\n

Most importantly, every kid in Russia will recognize the show\u2019s lullaby, although different generations would associate different animated clips<\/a> with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\t\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n

The premise of the lullaby above is that the baby shouldn\u2019t lie on the edge of the bed, because otherwise a grey wolf will come and bite you on the side of your tummy. Nothing like a sprinkle of fear to help a little one fall asleep.<\/p>\n
