Spring is finally here. After a long and snowy winter, seeing some \u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u044b<\/strong>\u0301 is a great relief, even if it is still a bit too cold and wet to actually enjoy being outside for a long period of time. However, the sad, gray landscape during this time starts to be dotted by tiny hints of brilliant color.<\/p>\n

Why? Of course, because during this time, plants begin to \u0446\u0432\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0301<\/strong> to flower. Before we dive into the actual names of the flowers, let\u2019s explore this interesting verb and its prefixes:<\/p>\n

\u0426\u0432\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0438<\/strong> follows this conjugation pattern: \u042f <\/strong>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0443\u0301, <\/strong>\u0442\u044b <\/strong>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0451\u0448\u044c, <\/strong>\u043e\u043d <\/strong>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0451\u0442<\/strong> (obviously this verb is mostly used in the third person). The past tense (attention!) is \u0446\u0432\u0451\u043b, <\/strong>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u043b\u0430\u0301, <\/strong>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u043b\u043e\u0301, <\/strong>\u0446\u0432\u0435\u043b\u0438\u0301<\/strong>. With the prefix \u0437\u0430<\/strong>– we get \u0437\u0430\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0430\u0301<\/strong>\u0442\u044c\/<\/strong>\u0437\u0430\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0301<\/strong> to bloom<\/em> with the prefix \u0437\u0430<\/strong>– suggesting the beginning of and a certain intensity of an action. With \u0440\u0430\u0437<\/strong>-, the great intensity of an action, we get \u0440\u0430\u0441\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0430\u0301<\/strong>\u0442\u044c\/<\/strong>\u0440\u0430\u0441\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0301<\/strong> which means to blossom, be in full bloom. This verb, along with the noun \u0440\u0430\u0441\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442, suggests flourishing or prospering. But beauty is a short-lived tyranny, and flowers eventually die. In this case, we get \u043e\u0442\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0442\u0430\u0301<\/strong>\u0442\u044c\/<\/strong>\u043e\u0442\u0446\u0432\u0435\u0441\u0442\u0438\u0301<\/strong>. \u0421\u0438\u0440\u0435\u0301<\/strong>\u043d\u044c <\/strong>\u0443\u0436\u0435\u0301 <\/strong>\u0434\u0430\u0432\u043d\u043e\u0301 <\/strong>\u043e\u0442\u0446\u0432\u0435\u043b\u0430\u0301<\/strong>. To make it a bit more fun, I am going to tell you the names of some spring flowers in the form of \u0437\u0430\u0433\u0430\u0301<\/strong>\u0434\u043a\u0438<\/strong> riddles<\/em>. Russians love their riddles, and so do I. They consist of a fun rhyme, usually two to four lines long. A book of riddles can be fun entertainment for many people, from a way to entertain children to a way to entertain guests at a party.
