Well, at least it was supposed to last only <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0443<\/span>\u0442\u043a\u0438\u00bb<\/strong> [24 hours], but as of Monday I was still <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0432 <\/strong><strong>\u043a\u0440\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0442\u0438\u00bb<\/strong> [in bed], feeling quite <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0441\u043a\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u0440\u043d\u043e\u00bb<\/strong> [miserably].<\/p>\n<p>So I thought about doing something easy. How about <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0434\u043d\u0438 <\/strong><strong>\u043d\u0435\u0434<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043b\u0438\u00bb<\/strong> [days of the week]? Sounds basic enough, doesn\u2019t it? Well, turns out that Josefina already got <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian?s=%D0%B4%D0%BD%D0%B8+%D0%BD%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BB%D0%B8&amp;x=13&amp;y=17\">Russian days of the week<\/a> covered back in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>But as we say in Russia, <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u043f\u043e\u0432\u0442\u043e\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u0435 &#8211; <\/strong><strong>\u043c\u0430\u0442\u044c <\/strong><strong>\u0443\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u044f\u00bb<\/strong> [repetition is the mother of learning]. Even V. This is a day of rest when no work was to be done. Except if there\u2019s a <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0441\u0443\u0431\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u043d\u0438\u043a\u00bb<\/strong> [voluntary Saturday work] to attend. In early years of the Soviet Union workers would enthusiastically volunteer to spend their Saturdays at work, unpaid, building the bright future. Later on, as the enthusiasm wore off, <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0441\u0443\u0431\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u043d\u0438\u043a\u00bb<\/strong> became more of a <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u043e\u0431\u044f\u0437<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u043e\u0432\u043a\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> [informal: an obligation that can\u2019t be skipped]. It also degenerated into clean-ups, litter pick-up and basic landscaping.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00ab\u0412\u043e\u0441\u043a\u0440\u0435\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u044c\u0435\u00bb<\/strong> [Sunday]<\/p>\n<p>Ah, the last day of the week! Well, the name itself is derived from the word <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0432\u043e\u0441\u043a\u0440\u0435\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u0435\u00bb<\/strong> [resurrection] and refers to Jesus\u2019 resurrection. It used to be called <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u043d\u0435\u0434<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043b\u044f\u00bb<\/strong> or the day when no work was to be done (hmm, which made it a third day of no work in addition to <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u043f<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span>\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0446\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> and <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0441\u0443\u0431\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> &#8211; not bad at all).
