But what are the words for various articles of clothing \u00ab\u043d\u0430 \u0440\u0443<\/span>\u0441\u0441\u043a\u043e\u043c\u00bb<\/strong> [in Russian]? Let’s find out!<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u0412\u043e-\u043f\u0435<\/span>\u0440\u0432\u044b\u0445\u00bb<\/strong> [First of all], the basics. Whether you are \u00ab\u0436\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0449\u0438\u043d\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> [a woman] or \u00ab\u043c\u0443<\/span>\u0436\u0447\u0438\u043d\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> [a man], you’ll probably wear \u00ab\u0431\u0440\u044e<\/span>\u043a\u0438\u00bb<\/strong> [pants (for Americans)<\/em> or trousers (for Brits)<\/em>]. Conveniently, \u00ab\u0431\u0440\u044e<\/span>\u043a\u0438\u00bb<\/strong> can refer to different sorts of pants (since I learned American English, I’ll just stick with the American form of the word), like pants you would wear casually or pants you would wear to work. But if you want to be really casual (and cool!), you could wear \u00ab\u0434\u0436\u0438<\/span>\u043d\u0441\u044b\u00bb<\/strong> [jeans]. \u00ab\u042f \u0447\u0430<\/span>\u0441\u0442\u043e \u043d\u043e\u0448\u0443<\/span> \u0434\u0436\u0438<\/span>\u043d\u0441\u044b\u00bb<\/strong> [I often wear jeans].<\/p>\n

The other basic item of clothing you need is a top. You could wear \u00ab\u0444\u0443\u0442\u0431\u043e<\/span>\u043b\u043a\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> [a t-shirt] or \u00ab\u043c\u0430<\/span>\u0439\u043a\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> [this also refers to a casual shirt like a t-shirt]. If you need to be more formal (and you’re a woman), you would wear \u00ab\u0431\u043b\u0443<\/span>\u0437\u043a\u0430\u00bb<\/strong> [a blouse]. Or you can wear just a shirt in general, which would be \u00ab\u0440\u0443\u0431\u0430<\/span>\u0448\u043a\u0430\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What if you need to get dressed up?
