So how do you feel about your progress with learning Russian?<\/p>\n<p>This might sound strange, but I certainly feel that my Russian has improved since I started writing for this blog. Even though Russian is \u043c\u043e\u0439 <strong>\u0440\u043e\u0434\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0439 <\/strong><strong>\u044f\u0437<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044b<\/span>\u043a<\/strong> (my native language), I do have a hard time with some of the more obscure or complicated rules of it. And so do most Russian speakers, I assure you.<\/p>\n<p>But enough <strong>\u043e <\/strong><strong>\u0441\u0435\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span><\/strong> (about me). Let\u2019s talk <strong>\u043e <\/strong><strong>\u0432\u0430\u0441<\/strong> (about you) and what you want to read and learn about. And according to the number of views and the number of comments on posts on this blog, it looks like I should be writing more about<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Russian social networks, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/social-networking-%E2%80%93-in-russian\/\">Vkontakte.ru<\/a>, as well as about Russian communities on international networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/most-useful-russian-phrases\/\">Must-know Russian phrases<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/examples-of-strange-russian-expressions\/\">strange Russian expressions<\/a> for anyone who plans on traveling to Russia some day;<\/li>\n<li>Everyday Russian expressions, such as <strong>\u0441\u043f\u0430\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0431\u043e<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/how-to-say-thank-you-in-russian\/\">thank you<\/a>) and <strong>\u044f <\/strong><strong>\u0437\u0430\u0441\u0442\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span>\u043b <\/strong><strong>\u0432 <\/strong><strong>\u043f\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0431\u043a\u0435<\/strong> (I got stuck in <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/traffic-road-rage-and-other-useful-driving-words\/\">traffic<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Russian grammar and its peculiarities, starting with the basics. The post about <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/how-to-figuring-out-gender-of-russian-noun\/\">noun genders<\/a> generated 98 comments, the record on this blog, and that\u2019s including posts with give-aways.<\/li>\n<li>Russian last names, possibly, since the two posts about <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/most-popular-russian-names\/\">Russian first names<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/russian-names-for-pets\/\">Russian names for pets<\/a> have been popular.<\/li>\n<li>Anything Russian as long as the word <strong>\u0441\u0435\u043a\u0441<\/strong> (sex) is <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/russian-literature-is-better-than-sex%E2%80%A6\/\">in the title<\/a> or at least <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/when-russians-get-busy-they-say\/\">implied<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Besides, I still owe you a post about curse words, don\u2019t I?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, someone who is just starting to learn Russian, asked me today, what would be a good resource to learn some basic household Russian phrases so that he can talk to his wife and child. So he wants to learn to say things like \u201cwe are out of milk\u201d and \u201cplease pick up your toys\u201d. I am wondering, how many of you are interested in something like this? <strong>Please, let me<\/strong> <strong>know<\/strong> in the comments.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, we have lots of readers here who are either native speakers or very fluent. And I\u2019d love to do something together with you guys and gals, like maybe have a book club or a movie club once a month. This can be both helpful and not so helpful as I try to explain things.
