It\u2019s the end of the school year in Russia. The good news is that \u043b\u0435<\/span>\u0442\u043d\u0438\u0435 \u043a\u0430\u043d\u0438<\/span>\u043a\u0443\u043b\u044b<\/strong> (summer school break) is about to start. The bad news is that first there are some \u044d\u043a\u0437\u0430<\/span>\u043c\u0435\u043d\u044b<\/strong> (exams) that need to be passed.<\/p>\n Of course, if you studied hard all year or, say, took time \u0437\u0430\u0437\u0443\u0431\u0440\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c<\/strong> (here: to cram) all the required materials the night before, you will do just fine. Besides, some years ago Russia changes its traditional high school exam-taking format to the \u0415\u0413\u042d<\/span>, \u0435\u0434\u0438<\/span>\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u0433\u043e\u0441\u0443\u0434\u0430<\/span>\u0440\u0441\u0442\u0432\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u044d\u043a\u0437\u0430<\/span>\u043c\u0435\u043d<\/strong> (unified state examination).<\/p>\n So no more pulling \u0431\u0438\u043b\u0435<\/span>\u0442\u044b<\/strong> (tickets) with open-ended questions in them. Instead, each \u0415\u0413\u042d<\/strong>, and there are lots of them, including \u043f\u043e \u0444\u0438<\/span>\u0437\u0438\u043a\u0435<\/strong> (physics test), \u043f\u043e \u0431\u0438\u043e\u043b\u043e<\/span>\u0433\u0438\u0438<\/strong> (biology test), \u043f\u043e \u043c\u0430\u0442\u0435\u043c\u0430<\/span>\u0442\u0438\u043a\u0435<\/strong> (mathematics test) and such, has \u0442\u0440\u0438 \u0447\u0430<\/span>\u0441\u0442\u0438<\/strong> (three parts) – one for multiple-choice questions, one for fill-in-the-blanks and one for essays.<\/p>\n If it sounds like ACT or SAT tests, then you\u2019re on the right since \u0415\u0413\u042d<\/strong> was modeled partially on these standardized tests.<\/p>\n So let\u2019s do our own testing right here right now. But don\u2019t be scared. If you\u2019ve been reading this blog regularly, you will have no problem figuring out the answers.
