And not just nowadays, I assure you, but there is solid proof that this verb has been around for some time now, as it is found in the popular saying by <a href=\"http:\/\/lenin.ru\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>\u0412\u043b\u0430\u0434<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u043c\u0438\u0440<\/strong><strong>\u0418\u043b\u044c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0447<\/strong><strong>\u041b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u043d<\/strong><\/a> [<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vladimir_Lenin\" target=\"_blank\">Vladimir Il&#8217;ich Lenin<\/a>]:<a href=\"http:\/\/otvet.mail.ru\/question\/18436508\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0423\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c\u0441\u044f<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong><strong>\u0443\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c\u0441\u044f<\/strong><strong>\u0438<\/strong><strong>\u0443\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c\u0441\u044f<\/strong><strong>!\u00bb<\/strong><\/a> [\u2018Study, stydy and study!&#8217;].<\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">This week I thought it would be fun to not just learn this word isolated from other words or in such boring textbook contexts as <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u044f<\/strong><strong>\u0443\u0447\u0443\u0441\u044c<\/strong><strong>\u0432<\/strong><strong>\u0443\u043d\u0438\u0432\u0435\u0440\u0441\u0438\u0442<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u0442\u0435<\/strong><strong>\u00bb<\/strong> [I study at the university], but together with other words who share the same root. That&#8217;s right &#8211; I&#8217;m going to try to find as many words as I can that share a <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span><\/strong><strong>\u0431\u0449\u0438\u0439<\/strong><strong>\u043a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0440\u0435\u043d\u044c<\/strong><strong>\u00bb<\/strong> with the verb <strong>\u00ab<\/strong><strong>\u0443\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c\u0441\u044f<\/strong><strong>\u00bb<\/strong>. And there is only a very slight chance that I&#8217;ll find all of them, but hey, that&#8217;s where you enter into the picture! But it sure is interesting, isn&#8217;t it? I always try and look for a familiar \u2018root&#8217; in any new Russian word I meet, and if I find one, then, unless it is a really long and difficult words made out of 5 roots, I already have a hunch, and sometimes more than just a hunch, of what the meaning of the word is. My lesson to all is as follows &#8211; not too far from Lenin, I must admit &#8211; know your <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.krugosvet.ru\/articles\/82\/1008278\/1008278a1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">\u00ab\u0441\u043b\u043e\u0432\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0440\u0430\u0437\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u0435\u00bb<\/a> <\/strong>[word construction]! If you know how to find the root in one word, you&#8217;ll be able to find it in any word. Trust me.
