our drinks at the casino.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, I&#8217;ve heard that casinos often water down their free drinks (they don&#8217;t want gamblers getting <i>too<\/i> drunk), but why complain? As the saying goes, <b>\u043d\u0430 \u0445\u0430\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span>\u0432\u0443 \u0438 <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0443<\/span>\u043a\u0441\u0443\u0441 \u0441\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0434\u043a\u0438\u0439<\/b> &#8212; &#8220;when they&#8217;re giving it away free, even vinegar is sweet&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>A <b>\u043f\u0430\u0440\u0438\u043a\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0445\u0435\u0440\u0441\u043a\u0430\u044f<\/b> is a shop where you go to get your <b>\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u043b\u043e\u0441\u044b<\/b> (&#8220;hair on the head&#8221;) clipped and\/or groomed. With the work being done by a <b>\u043f\u0430\u0440\u0438\u043a\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0445\u0435\u0440<\/b> <i>(masc.)<\/i> or a <b>\u043f\u0430\u0440\u0438\u043a\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0445\u0435\u0440\u0448\u0430<\/b> <i>(fem.)<\/i>. And <b>\u0447\u0442\u043e\u0431\u044b \u0440\u0430\u0441\u043f\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0432\u0438\u0442\u044c \u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u043b\u043e\u0441\u044b<\/b> (&#8220;in order to smooth\/fix the hair&#8221;) after it has been cut, a <b>\u043f\u0430\u0440\u0438\u043a\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0445\u0435\u0440<\/b> will also use a <b>\u0440\u0430\u0441\u0447\u0451\u0441\u043a\u0430<\/b> (&#8220;comb&#8221;) or a <b>\u0449\u0451\u0442\u043a\u0430 \u0434\u043b\u044f \u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u043b\u043e\u0441<\/b> (&#8220;hairbrush&#8221;), both of which come in various shapes.<\/p>\n<p>That covers some of the Russian equivalents for nouns like &#8220;hairdo&#8221; and &#8220;razor&#8221;, but in order to say &#8220;I forgot to shave this morning!&#8221; or &#8220;How much do you charge to trim a woman&#8217;s hair, no styling?&#8221;, you&#8217;ll need some basic verbs.<\/p>\n<p>First, there&#8217;s <b>\u0441\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0447\u044c<\/b>, which can mean &#8220;to cut someone&#8217;s hair&#8221; (<b>\u0441\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0447\u044c \u0432\u043e\u043b\u043e\u0441\u044b \u043a\u043e\u043c\u0443-\u043d\u0438\u0431\u0443\u0434\u044c<\/b>) or &#8220;to give someone a haircut&#8221; (<b>\u0441\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0447\u044c \u043a\u043e\u0433\u043e-\u043d\u0438\u0431\u0443\u0434\u044c<\/b>), depending on the construction you use. In any case, it suggests a relatively simple cut-and-trim without a lot of fancy styling. But the prefix <b>\u043f\u043e\u0434-<\/b> can imply &#8220;just a little bit; not too much&#8221; &#8212; which is, of course, what one often says after sitting down in a barber&#8217;s chair!<\/p>\n<p>Attaching the so-called &#8220;reflexive&#8221; <b>-\u0441\u044f<\/b> to <b>\u0441\u0442\u0440\u0438\u0447\u044c<\/b> will usually give the meaning &#8220;to have your hair cut by someone else&#8221;.
