But the experience has taught us that <strong>\u043c\u0435\u0442\u0435\u043e\u0440\u043e\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0433\u0438\u044f<\/strong> (meteorology) is not exactly <strong>\u0442<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0447\u043d\u0430\u044f \u043d\u0430<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0443<\/span>\u043a\u0430<\/strong> (an exact science). It\u2019s rather that the approaching <strong>\u0437\u0438\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span><\/strong> (winter) put me in a pessimistic frame of mind. Of course, I try to fight this mood by calling to mind verses drilled into my head back in school:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0423\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044b<\/span>\u043b\u0430\u044f \u043f\u043e\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>! \u041e\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u0439 \u043e\u0447\u0430\u0440\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u043d\u044c\u0435!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>\u041f\u0440\u0438<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span>\u0442\u043d\u0430 \u043c\u043d\u0435 \u0442\u0432\u043e<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span> \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0449<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u044c\u043d\u0430\u044f \u043a\u0440\u0430\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A melancholy time! Baloney!<\/p>\n<p>Sure, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0441\u0435\u043d\u044c<\/strong> (autumn) has some <strong>\u043e\u0447\u0430\u0440\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u043d\u044c\u0435<\/strong> (charm) &#8211; <strong>\u0437\u043e\u043b\u043e\u0442<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u044f <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0441\u0435\u043d\u044c<\/strong> (golden autumn), <strong>\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0431\u044c\u0435 \u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u0442\u043e<\/strong> (indian summer), <strong>\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0440\u0445\u0430\u0442\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u0441\u0435\u0437<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u043d<\/strong> (a few weeks in late-August through early-September in the Russia\u2019s southern resorts) all come to mind. But once, in the words of another literary classic, <strong>\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0432\u044b \u0441\u0436<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0442\u044b, \u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0449\u0438 \u0433<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u043b\u044b<\/strong> (fields are harvested; groves are bare), it\u2019s time to stop oohing and aahing over the weather and face the grim truth &#8211; winter is coming.<\/p>\n<p>Winter in Russia has its own <strong>\u043e\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0431\u0435\u043d\u043d\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0438<\/strong> (peculiarities). It always catches you unprepared, it seems. <strong>\u0417\u0438\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span> \u043e\u043f<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span>\u0442\u044c \u043f\u0440\u0438\u0448\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span> \u043d\u0435 \u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u043e<\/span>\u0432\u0440\u0435\u043c\u044f<\/strong> (Once again winter arrived all of a sudden), as they say.<\/p>\n<p>First come <strong>\u0437<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u043c\u043e\u0440\u043e\u0437\u043a\u0438<\/strong> (cold spells), then temperatures get further and further <strong>\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0438<\/span>\u0436\u0435 \u043d\u043e\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u044f<\/span><\/strong> (below zero). Remember, it\u2019s <strong>\u0433\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0430<\/span>\u0434\u0443\u0441\u044b \u0426<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u0435<\/span>\u043b\u044c\u0441\u0438\u044f<\/strong> (degrees Celsius) in Russia. First, you can score some really cheap tickets to Russia this time of the year.
