By the way, the title literally means, &#8220;work is not a wolf (and will not run into the woods),&#8221; meaning that you shouldn&#8217;t work too hard or too much. The word \u0440\u0430\u0431\u043e\u0442\u0430 itself can refer to both a specific job or work to be done in general, sometimes regardless of employment status. So, you can say, &#8220;<strong>\u042f \u0438\u0449<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0443<\/span> \u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u0443<\/strong>&#8221; (I&#8217;m looking for a job) or &#8220;<strong>\u0423 \u043c\u0435\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044f<\/span> \u043c\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0433\u043e \u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u044b<\/strong>&#8221; (I have a lot of work). With this in mind&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>Job Search<\/h2>\n<p>We&#8217;ve already seen <strong>\u0438\u0441\u043a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u0442\u044c \u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u0443\u00a0<\/strong>(to look for a job). You are probably reading ads (<strong>\u043e\u0431\u044a\u044f\u0432\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u044f<\/strong>) or looking online (<strong>\u0432 \u0418\u043d\u0442\u0435\u0440\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0442\u0435<\/strong>) for any <strong>\u0432\u0430\u043a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u043d\u0441\u0438\u0438<\/strong> (openings). So, a candidate would be more likely to say, &#8220;<strong>\u041c\u0435\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044f<\/span> \u0432\u0437<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044f<\/span>\u043b\u0438 \u043d\u0430 \u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u0443<\/strong>&#8221; (I was hired).<\/p>\n<h2>Work Schedule<\/h2>\n<p>Altough most people have a <strong>\u043d\u043e\u0440\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0438<\/span>\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0447\u0438\u0439 \u0434\u0435\u043d\u044c<\/strong> (a 9-5 schedule, more or less), <strong>\u0433\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u0444\u0438\u043a \u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u044b<\/strong> (work schedule) may vary greatly.\u00a0 Other schedules exist, such as &#8220;<strong>\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0443<\/span>\u0442\u043a\u0438 \u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0440\u0435\u0437 \u0434\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0435<\/strong>&#8221; (24 hours every 3 days) or &#8220;<strong>\u0434\u0432\u0430 \u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0440\u0435\u0437 \u0434\u0432\u0430<\/strong>&#8221; (2 days of work&#8211;sometimes for 12 hours&#8211;followed by 2 days off). Some people also <strong>\u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u0430\u044e\u0442 \u0432 \u0432\u0435\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0440\u043d\u044e\u044e\/\u043d\u043e\u0447\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0443<\/span>\u044e \u0441\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0443<\/strong> (work the evening\/night shift). Most places get <strong>\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044b<\/span>\u0432 \u043d\u0430 \u043e\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0434<\/strong> (a lunch break). <strong>\u0421\u0443\u0431\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u0430<\/strong> and <strong>\u0432\u043e\u0441\u043a\u0440\u0435\u0441<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u044c\u0435<\/strong> (Saturday and Sunday) are mostly <strong>\u0432\u044b\u0445\u043e\u0434\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044b<\/span>\u0435 \u0434\u043d\u0438<\/strong> (days off), although Saturdays may be <strong>\u0440\u0430\u0431<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0447\u0438\u0439 \u0434\u0435\u043d\u044c<\/strong> (a work day) in some organizations.<\/p>\n<h2>Organizational Structure<\/h2>\n<p>You will most likely have a <strong>\u043d\u0430\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u044c\u043d\u0438\u043a\/\u043d\u0430\u0447<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u044c\u043d\u0438\u0446\u0430<\/strong> (boss) and <strong>\u043a\u043e\u043b\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0433\u0438<\/strong> (co-workers). Perhaps your workplace has <strong>\u043e\u0442\u0434<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043b\u044b<\/strong> (departments) or even <strong>\u0444\u0438\u043b\u0438<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u043b\u044b<\/strong> (regional offices).<\/p>\n<h2>Pay<\/h2>\n<p>In Russia, your salary (<strong>\u0437\u0430\u0440\u043f\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u0442\u0430<\/strong>) is normally paid monthly. Hourly pay (<strong>\u043f\u043e\u0447\u0430\u0441\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u044f \u043e\u043f\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u0442\u0430<\/strong>) technically exists, but it&#8217;s uncommon to talk about wages. <strong>\u041e\u043a\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0430<\/span>\u0434<\/strong> is your base salary, to which <strong>\u043f\u0440\u043e\u0446<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0442\u044b\/\u043a\u043e\u043c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0438<\/span>\u0441\u0441\u0438\u044f<\/strong> (commission) or <strong>\u043f\u0440<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043c\u0438\u044f<\/strong> (bonus) may be added. To give someone a raise is <strong>\u043f\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044b<\/span>\u0441\u0438\u0442\u044c \u0437\u0430\u0440\u043f\u043b\u0430\u0442\u0443<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Perks and benefits<\/h2>\n<p>Employers entice prospective employees with a generous <strong>\u0441\u043e\u0446\u043f\u0430\u043a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u0442<\/strong> (benefits papckage). That includes governement-mandated <strong>\u0431\u043e\u043b\u044c\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0438<\/span>\u0447\u043d\u044b\u0439 [\u043b\u0438\u0441\u0442]<\/strong> (sick leave) and <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0442\u043f\u0443\u0441\u043a<\/strong> (vacation). The duration of the annual vacation is 28 calendar days. Ironically, you will see vacancies list <strong>\u043e\u0444\u043e\u0440\u043c\u043b<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u0435<\/span>\u043d\u0438\u0435 \u043f\u043e \u0422\u041a \u0420\u0424<\/strong> (proper paperwork) as an added perk. <strong>TK<\/strong> is <strong>\u0422\u0440\u0443\u0434\u043e\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0439 \u043a<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u0434\u0435\u043a\u0441<\/strong> (Labor Code). To avoid taxes and other expenses, some employers try to pay their workers &#8220;under the table,&#8221; which is not only illegal, but also hurts the employee&#8217;s record and retirement savings.<\/p>\n<h2>Employment Termination<\/h2>\n<p>Sadly, sometimes people get fired (to fire &#8211; <em>imperf. <\/em><strong>\u0443\u0432\u043e\u043b\u044c\u043d<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u044f<\/span>\u0442\u044c<\/strong>\/<em>perf. <\/em><strong>\u0443\u0432<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u043e<\/span>\u043b\u0438\u0442\u044c<\/strong> + accusative).
