Perhaps some are going to Russia or the region for a study abroad or on business. This experience can be overwhelming on its own, and limited Russian skills may add to the stress. To make the process smoother, I would like to cover some basic concepts that may come in handy in your travels.<\/p>\n<h2>Air Travel<\/h2>\n<p>First of all, you need to book your flight (\u0437\u0430\u0431\u0440\u043e\u043d\u0438\u0301\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u0442\u044c \u0440\u0435\u0439\u0441). Nowadays that&#8217;s easy to do over the Internet (\u043f\u043e \u0418\u043d\u0442\u0435\u0440\u043d\u0435\u0301\u0442\u0443), although if you are staying somewhere with spotty Internet access, you can do it in person at a travel agency (\u0442\u0443\u0440\u0444\u0438\u0301\u0440\u043c\u0430).<\/p>\n<p>Some things to keep in mind when choosing your flight are departure time (\u0432\u0440\u0435\u0301\u043c\u044f \u0432\u044b\u0301\u043b\u0435\u0442\u0430),\u00a0 arrival time (\u0432\u0440\u0435\u0301\u043c\u044f \u043f\u0440\u0438\u043b\u0451\u0442\u0430), and any layovers (\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0441\u0430\u0301\u0434\u043a\u0438).<\/p>\n<p>At the airport in Russia, you will want to listen for the announcements for the check-in (\u0440\u0435\u0433\u0438\u0441\u0442\u0440\u0430\u0301\u0446\u0438\u044f). These announcements are also made in English, but the announcer can have a strong accent, making it hard to understand.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qT5eBeG-QKI\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qT5eBeG-QKI<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you hear &#8220;\u041d\u0430\u0447\u0438\u043d\u0430\u0301\u0435\u0442\u0441\u044f \u043f\u043e\u0441\u0430\u0301\u0434\u043a\u0430&#8230;&#8221; at the beginning of the announcement, it&#8217;s time to go to the gate &#8212; that is the boarding call.<\/p>\n<h2>Accommodation<\/h2>\n<p>If you are an independent traveler, you will need to book a hotel (\u0437\u0430\u0431\u0440\u043e\u043d\u0438\u0301\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u0442\u044c \u043d\u043e\u0301\u043c\u0435\u0440).
