Although words of Greek origin may not strike you as something you need to know in Russian, they come up in conversation with\u00a0surprising frequency. Apart from the numerous Greek loanwords<\/a> in the area of arts and sciences, there are many Greek references that have entered the Russian lexicon.<\/p>\n

People<\/h2>\n

First of all, Greek mythology is often brought up in conversation. Greek gods and their Roman counterparts remain a popular trope.
