Does anything bring joy to their lives, or is it all drudgery, as one may think after reading the grim coverage? A walk is <b>\u043f\u0440\u043e\u0433<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0443<\/span>\u043b\u043a\u0430<\/b>. Walking for exercise or out of necessity is <b>\u0445\u043e\u0434<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c \u043f\u0435\u0448\u043a<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u043e<\/span>\u043c<\/b>. With Russian midsize and large cities being overall fairly walkable, going on walks with your friends is one of Russians&#8217; favorite pastimes. People stroll through parks, stop to get a snack or an ice cream or to sit down on a bench for a chat. It&#8217;s a free and healthy way of spending time together.<\/p>\n<h2>\u0425\u043e\u0434<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c \u0432 \u0433<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u043e<\/span>\u0441\u0442\u0438<\/h2>\n<p><b>\u0425\u043e\u0434<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span>\u0442\u044c \u0432 \u0433<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u043e<\/span>\u0441\u0442\u0438<\/b> could roughly be translated as &#8220;to visit friends, to go to your friends&#8217; house.&#8221; How is this different from a party (<b>\u0432\u0435\u0447\u0435\u0440<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span>\u043d\u043a\u0430<\/b>)? Russian <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/six-quintessentially-russian-concepts-part-ii\/\">visits<\/a> tend to be very hands-on, meaning that the hosts usually prepare food and entertainment for the guests, and the guests contribute dessert or a bottle of wine. Of course, the degree of formality may vary. Tea (<b>\u0447\u0430\u0439<\/b>) is an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/tea-in-russia-is-more-than-just-tea\/\">indispensable<\/a> part of Russian daily life. Tea is offered on its own, with a meal, with dessert, to start your day, to finish a holiday feast, and so on and so forth. Tea is certainly a ritual and is not usually consumed on the run.<\/p>\n<p>Most families have a kettle (<b>\u0447<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0430<\/span>\u0439\u043d\u0438\u043a<\/b>) to boil water for the tea; microwaving water is unusual. Some will have an additional small ceramic kettle (<b>\u0437\u0430\u0432<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0430<\/span>\u0440\u043e\u0447\u043d\u044b\u0439<\/b> <b>\u0447\u0430\u0439\u043d\u0438\u043a<\/b>) with strongly brewed tea (<b>\u0437\u0430\u0432<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0430<\/span>\u0440\u043a\u0430<\/b>), which is then mixed with hot water to achieve the desired concentration. That little kettle is what you see on top of the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/drink-is-more-popular-in-russia-than-vodka\/\">samovar<\/a> (<b>\u0441\u0430\u043c\u043e\u0432<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0430<\/span>\u0440<\/b>).<\/p>\n<h2>\u0428\u0430\u0448\u043b\u044b\u043a<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><b>\u0428\u0430\u0448\u043b\u044b\u043a<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span><\/b> is another ritual centered around food. <b>\u0428\u0430\u0448\u043b<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u044b<\/span>\u043a<\/b> is literally a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/describe-your-trip-in-russian-the-outdoors\/\">shashlik<\/a> or a shish kebab, but \u0448\u0430\u0448\u043b\u044b\u043a\u0438 can refer to the whole event\/experience. In that case, you could say &#8220;<strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0435<\/span>\u0445\u0430\u0442\u044c \u043d\u0430 \u0448\u0430\u0448\u043b\u044b\u043a<span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u0438<\/span><\/strong>.&#8221; The dish is basically skewered marinated meat cooked over an open fire. Some people go there for a few days in the summer, while others may spend entire months living and growing food there. Dachas offer a home away from home for busy city dwellers. I am one of the rare Russians whose family did not have one, but my grandparents had a garden\/orchard (<b>\u0441\u0430\u0434<\/b>), where we&#8217;d all go to help grow and pick berries (<b><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u044f<\/span>\u0433\u043e\u0434\u044b<\/b>) and vegetables (<b><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">\u043e<\/span>\u0432\u043e\u0449\u0438<\/b>).<\/p>\n<p>Which of these have you done or do you enjoy doing?
