It is basically an open-face sandwich, normally served on a flavorful, untoasted slice of bread. As I just learned from Wikipedia, what is called\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blini\">blini<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>in English was traditionally made with buckwheat flour. While <strong>\u0441\u0430\u043b<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0430<\/span>\u0442<\/strong> (a salad) is not an exclusively Russian dish, Russian salads are certainly different from the variations you may be familiar with. Yes, there are the famous savory salads like <strong>\u041e\u043b\u0438\u0432\u044c<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u0435<\/span><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/%c2%ab%d0%93%d0%be%d1%82%d0%be%d0%b2%d0%b8%d0%bc-%d0%be%d0%bb%d0%b8%d0%b2%d1%8c%d0%b5%c2%bb-making-olive-aka-the-russian-salad\/\">Olivier<\/a>) or\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/russian\/how-to-prepare-russian-mimosa-salad\/\">\u043c\u0438\u043c<span style=\"color: #339966\">\u043e<\/span>\u0437\u0430<\/a><\/strong>.
