Or rather, the members of the Swedish Academy did. Bob Dylan\u00a0was awarded the <strong>Nobel Prize for Literature 2016<\/strong> &#8220;for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition&#8221;. <em><strong>Hurricane<\/strong> <\/em>is\u00a0a protest <b>song<\/b> by <b>Bob Dylan<\/b> co-written with Jacques Levy, about the imprisonment of Rubin &#8220;<b>Hurricane<\/b>&#8221; Carter.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hurricane_(Bob_Dylan_song)\" target=\"_blank\">Wikipedia <\/a>&#8220;It compiles alleged acts of racism and profiling against Carter, which <b>Dylan<\/b> describes as leading to a false trial and conviction.&#8221; Since the song bears witness to a very contemporary topic (even though it was released\u00a0in 1975), we take this opportunity to celebrate his music by playing this 1984 version of <em>Hurricane<\/em> in Spanish by Argentine singer Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Cantilo. We&#8217;ll discover some Argentine Spanish traits in the song. Esta es la historia del Hurac\u00e1n,<br \/>\nel boxeador al que quisieron culpar,<br \/>\npor algo que no hizo jam\u00e1s,<br \/>\ny lo pusieron en prisi\u00f3n,<br \/>\njusto cuando iba a ser campe\u00f3n mundial&#8230;<br \/>\nTres cuerpos tirados pudo ver la mujer,<br \/>\ny otro hombre rondando misteriosamente,<br \/>\n&#8220;Yo no lo hice&#8221; <strong>se apur\u00f3<\/strong> a decir,<br \/>\n&#8220;Espero que me crean,\u00a0yo pas\u00e9 por aqu\u00ed&#8221;,<br \/>\n&#8220;Mi nombre es Pedro y estoy limpio, se\u00f1ora,<br \/>\nlo mejor ser\u00e1 llamar a <strong>la cana<\/strong> ahora&#8221;,<br \/>\nY la mujer corri\u00f3 a llamar,<br \/>\ny la polic\u00eda entro en escena,<br \/>\ncon sus luces rojas y estridentes sirenas&#8230;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">Mientras en un sitio<\/span> muy lejos de all\u00ed,<br \/>\nRubin y sus amigos, sal\u00edan a <strong>curtir<\/strong>.<br \/>\nEl era un boxeador de peso mediano,<br \/>\nno ten\u00eda ni idea de lo que iba a ocurrir,<br \/>\ncuando de repente <strong>la cana<\/strong> los par\u00f3,<br \/>\nuna noche antes y la otra anterior,<br \/>\nporque eran negros nada m\u00e1s,<br \/>\nnunca pod\u00edan estar tranquilos sin tener problemas con la ley&#8230;<br \/>\n\u00c1ngel Pedro, el sospechoso, ten\u00eda un socio,<br \/>\ny juntos inventaron el siguiente negocio,<br \/>\ndijeron haber visto dos tipos escapar,<br \/>\nparec\u00edan boxeadores y sal\u00edan del lugar&#8230;<br \/>\nDe pronto uno de los heridos reaccion\u00f3,<br \/>\ny de inmediato al hospital se le llev\u00f3,<br \/>\ny a pesar de que estaba muriendo,<br \/>\nla polic\u00eda le pidi\u00f3 que identificara al que le dispar\u00f3&#8230;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">Cuatro de la ma\u00f1ana<\/span> y entran en <strong>el cuarto,<\/strong><br \/>\ntrayendo por delante a Rubin esposado,<br \/>\nel moribundo mir\u00f3 apenas y dijo:<br \/>\n&#8220;\u00bfPara qu\u00e9 traen a ese chico si \u00e9l no lo hizo?&#8221;<br \/>\nEsta es la historia del Hurac\u00e1n,<br \/>\nel boxeador al que quisieron culpar,<br \/>\npor algo que no hizo jam\u00e1s,<br \/>\ny lo pusieron en prisi\u00f3n,<br \/>\njusto cuando iba a ser campe\u00f3n mundial&#8230;<br \/>\nCuatro meses m\u00e1s tarde, Rubin el Hurac\u00e1n,<br \/>\npelea en Sudam\u00e9rica por el t\u00edtulo mundial,<br \/>\nmientras \u00c1ngel Pedro sigue <strong>siendo apretado,<\/strong><br \/>\ny elocuentemente apalabrado,<br \/>\nTe <strong>acord\u00e1s<\/strong> de aquel asesinato triple,<br \/>\nte <strong>acord\u00e1s<\/strong> de que fue un boxeador el que viste,<br \/>\nnosotros vamos a acusarlo,<br \/>\ny <strong>vos ten\u00e9s<\/strong> que ayudarnos y adem\u00e1s,<br \/>\nno te olvides de que es negro y <strong>vos<\/strong> <strong>sos<\/strong> blanco&#8230;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">\u00c1ngel Pedro<\/span> dice: yo no s\u00e9, en realidad,<br \/>\ny ellos le contestan: no hay tanto que pensar,<br \/>\nnosotros te ayudamos y te damos un empleo.<br \/>\nSi <strong>ten\u00e9s<\/strong> antecedentes te los borraremos,<br \/>\nvas a hacer un favor a la sociedad.<br \/>\nEse desgraciado quiere ser campe\u00f3n mundial,<br \/>\nlo vamos a bajar del pedestal,<br \/>\ny le vamos a poner el trasero,<br \/>\njustamente donde debe estar&#8230;<br \/>\nRubin el Hurac\u00e1n era el mejor en su peso,<br \/>\npero no estaba hablando todo el d\u00eda de eso,<br \/>\n&#8220;Es mi trabajo&#8221; dec\u00eda &#8220;y lo hago por <strong>la guita<\/strong>&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Pero cuando termina busco cosas distintas&#8221;<br \/>\nandar a caballo por un largo camino,<br \/>\ndejar boyas a la orilla del r\u00edo.<br \/>\nPero todo eso se acab\u00f3, lo metieron en una jaula,<br \/>\ndonde tratan de hacer de un hombre una rata&#8230;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">Todo contra Rubin<\/span> fue un violento avance,<br \/>\n<strong>el juicio fue un circo<\/strong>, no tuvo ni <strong>una chance<\/strong>.<br \/>\nLos blancos del jurado le ten\u00edan terror,<br \/>\ncomo a todo lo que significa revoluci\u00f3n,<br \/>\ny para los negros era un negro loco.<br \/>\nNadie crey\u00f3 en \u00e9l ni siquiera un poco,<br \/>\ny aunque no lo pudieron comprobar,<br \/>\nel jurado decidi\u00f3 que \u00e9l<br \/>\nfue el que cometi\u00f3 el crimen en el bar&#8230;<br \/>\nRubin fue falsamente juzgado<br \/>\nel cargo fue homicidio en primer grado,<br \/>\ny \u00bfadivinen qui\u00e9nes testimoniaron&#8230;?<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">\u00c1ngel Pedro y sus socios<\/span> y hasta mintieron los diarios.<br \/>\n\u00bfC\u00f3mo puede la vida de un hombre,<br \/>\nestar en manos de gente tan innoble?<br \/>\ntoda esa farsa fue planeada,<br \/>\ny yo me siento asustada de estar en una tierra,<br \/>\ndonde no hay justicia cierta&#8230;<br \/>\nAhora hay criminales de <strong>saco<\/strong> y corbata,<br \/>\ntom\u00e1ndose un martini en sus terrazas,<br \/>\nmientras Rubin se sienta solitario en su celda,<br \/>\nun hombre inocente en una vida de mierda&#8230;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">Esta es la historia del Hurac\u00e1n,<\/span><br \/>\nPero esta historia no termina ac\u00e1,<br \/>\nlo tienen que poner en libertad,<br \/>\ny devolver cada minuto que pas\u00f3 en la prisi\u00f3n,<br \/>\ncuando pudo ser campe\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 49%;padding: 0 10px 0 0;float: right\">\n<p><em><strong>Hurricane<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080\">Pistol shots<\/span> ring out in the barroom night<br \/>\nEnter Patty Valentine from the upper hall<br \/>\nShe sees a bartender in a pool of blood<br \/>\nCries out my God, they killed them all<br \/>\nHere comes the story of the Hurricane<br \/>\nThe man the authorities came to blame<br \/>\nFor somethin&#8217; that he never done<br \/>\nPut in a prison cell, but one time he could-a been<br \/>\nThe champion of the world<br \/>\nThree bodies lyin&#8217; there does Patty see<br \/>\nAnd another man named Bello, movin&#8217; around mysteriously<br \/>\nI didn&#8217;t do it, he says, and he throws up his hands<br \/>\nI was only robbin&#8217; the register, I hope you understand<br \/>\nI saw them leavin&#8217;, he says, and he stops<br \/>\nOne of us had better call up the cops<br \/>\nAnd so Patty calls the cops<br \/>\nAnd they arrive on the scene with their red lights flashin&#8217;<br \/>\nIn the hot New Jersey night<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">Meanwhile, far away<\/span> in another part of town<br \/>\nRubin Carter and a couple of friends are drivin&#8217; around<br \/>\nNumber one contender for the middleweight crown<br \/>\nHad no idea what kinda shit was about to go down<br \/>\nWhen a cop pulled him over to the side of the road<br \/>\nJust like the time before and the time before that<br \/>\nIn Paterson that&#8217;s just the way things go<br \/>\nIf you&#8217;re black you might as well not show up on the street<br \/>\n&#8216;Less you want to draw the heat<br \/>\nAlfred Bello had a partner and he had a rap for the cops<br \/>\nHim and Arthur Dexter Bradley were just out prowlin&#8217; around<br \/>\nHe said, I saw two men runnin&#8217; out, they looked like middleweights<br \/>\nThey jumped into a white car with out-of-state plates<br \/>\nAnd Miss Patty Valentine just nodded her head<br \/>\nCop said, wait a minute, boys, this one&#8217;s not dead<br \/>\nSo they took him to the infirmary<br \/>\nAnd though this man could hardly see<br \/>\nThey told him that he could identify the guilty men<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080\">Four in the mornin&#8217;<\/span> and they haul Rubin in<br \/>\nThey took him to the hospital and they brought him upstairs<br \/>\nThe wounded man looks up through his one dyin&#8217; eye<br \/>\nSays, wha&#8217;d you bring him in here for?
