One of the options is renting out an apartment (or flat). You surely know how to do this in English, but what happens if you plan on moving to a Spanish-speaking country? Is <em>alquilar<\/em> the same as <em>rentar<\/em>? Do you talk about <em>un apartamento<\/em>, <em>un piso<\/em> o <em>un departamento<\/em>? What&#8217;s the difference? Busc\u00f3 <strong>anuncios<\/strong> de <strong>propiedades en alquiler<\/strong> en el peri\u00f3dico y en internet. Les pregunt\u00f3 a sus amigos si sab\u00edan de alg\u00fan departamento <strong>disponible<\/strong> que estuviera a su alcance. Finalmente, Raquel encontr\u00f3 un buen apartamento que estaba dentro de su <strong>presupuesto<\/strong>. Raquel sab\u00eda que ten\u00eda que presentar una <strong>solicitud<\/strong> para conseguir el apartamento, as\u00ed que se asegur\u00f3 de tener su <strong>identificaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, la informaci\u00f3n sobre su <strong>empleador<\/strong> y sus <strong>ingresos<\/strong> y los detalles sobre sus <strong>domicilios anteriores.<\/strong> Raquel complet\u00f3 la solicitud y le dio permiso al due\u00f1o para que verificara su cr\u00e9dito. Tambi\u00e9n le pag\u00f3 un <strong>peque\u00f1o cargo<\/strong> al due\u00f1o para cubrir el costo de la <strong>verificaci\u00f3n de su cr\u00e9dito<\/strong>. Pero cuando el due\u00f1o verific\u00f3 su cr\u00e9dito, descubri\u00f3 que Raquel no ten\u00eda un <strong>buen historial de cr\u00e9dito<\/strong>. Afortunadamente, Raquel estaba preparada. Ya sab\u00eda que la gente que no tiene un buen historial de cr\u00e9dito a veces tiene que pagar m\u00e1s por adelantado. Raquel explic\u00f3 que estaba <strong>en condiciones de pagar<\/strong> el apartamento. Para probarlo, le mostr\u00f3 al due\u00f1o la informaci\u00f3n sobre su empleador y sus ingresos. El due\u00f1o acept\u00f3<strong> alquilarle el apartamento<\/strong> si le pagaba el primer y el \u00faltimo mes de alquiler ahora. Raquel tambi\u00e9n ten\u00eda que <strong>pagar un dep\u00f3sito de garant\u00eda<\/strong>. Raquel firm\u00f3 su <strong>contrato de alquiler<\/strong>, le dio un <strong>cheque<\/strong> al due\u00f1o y acordaron una fecha para la <strong>mudanza<\/strong>.
