Often, a pineapple is placed atop the rotating spit of meat. It&#8217;s cut from time to time to allow the juice to soak into the meat. Rather, they&#8217;re usually served in soft tortillas. There are, however, a few different types of tacos you may encounter:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>tacos dorados = fried tacos<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>tacos blanditos = soft tacos<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>tacos sudados\/tacos de canasta = &#8220;sweaty&#8221; tacos\/basket tacos<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don&#8217;t let that last name throw you off. These are actually just steamed tacos that are often served by small restaurants and street vendors. Here are some of the most common toppings you&#8217;ll find:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>r\u00e1banos = radishes<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>encurtidos = pickled veggies<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>pepino = cucumber<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>cebolla = onion<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>cilantro = cilantro<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>salsa verde = green salsa<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>salsa roja = red salsa<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>salsa picante = hot sauce<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To specify what you do or don&#8217;t want on your taco, use the words <em>con<\/em> (with) or <em>sin<\/em> (without). You can ask for them <em>con queso<\/em> (with cheese), but you&#8217;ll probably get a funny look and just be given and charged for a quesadilla.
