In this Spanish lesson we will practice using some Spanish reflexive verbs. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my beginner Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/p>\n

Beginner Spanish Lesson 22 Reflexive verbs<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Please familiarise yourself with the following words and phrases before listening to the audio below:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tu pa\u00eds: your country
\nTan tarde: so late
\nA veces: sometimes
\nTomarse: to have (something toe at or drink)
\nGalletas: biscuits.<\/p>\n

Now, play the audio to listen to a conversation between two friends talking about the different routines they have in their weekend mornings. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sara: Charlie \u00bfA qu\u00e9 hora te levantas los fines de semana?
\nCharlie: Me levanto a las ocho. \u00bfY t\u00fa?
\nSara: Yo me levanto a las diez.
\nCharlie: \u00a1Guau! \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 te levantas tan tarde?
\nSara: \u00bfPor qu\u00e9? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no? Es fin de semana. Me gusta dormir.
\nCharlie: Yo prefiero levantarme pronto y hacer cosas. Me levanto a las ocho, me ducho, me visto, desayuno y voy a correr.
\nSara: Yo me levanto a las diez o a las once a veces. Me tomo un caf\u00e9, me ducho, me visto y veo la tele.
