This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Intermediate Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\nMedia hora: half an hour
\nAbajo: below<\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation between two friends. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mark: Hola Sonia \u00bfSabes d\u00f3nde ha estado Sara de vacaciones? Est\u00e1 muy morena.
\nSonia: No, no lo s\u00e9. Habr\u00e1 estado en Andaluc\u00eda, o en la costa mediterr\u00e1nea supongo.
\nMark: \u00bfY crees que habr\u00e1 ido ella sola o con alguien?
\nSonia: Ni idea.\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no se lo preguntas?
\nMark: Mmmm Es que no s\u00e9 d\u00f3nde est\u00e1 ahora.
\nSonia: Ahora yo tampoco s\u00e9 d\u00f3nde est\u00e1, pero en media hora ya habr\u00e1 terminado el trabajo y estar\u00e1 en la cafeter\u00eda de abajo.
\nMark: \u00bfVas a ir t\u00fa a la cafeter\u00eda?
\nSonia: En media hora no habr\u00e9 terminado de trabajar. Tengo mucho que hacer hoy. Pero vete t\u00fa solo.
\nMark: No s\u00e9…
\nSonia: Venga Mark. No seas t\u00edmido.
\nMark: Bueno, lo voy a pensar.
\nSonia: Seguro que Sonia habr\u00e1 viajado al sur con su hermana Clara. Siempre viajan juntas. Habr\u00e1n estado en la playa todos los d\u00edas. Les encanta. No creo que Sara tenga novio. Nunca habla de ning\u00fan chico.
\nMark:\u00bfEn serio?
\nSonia: En serio. As\u00ed que trabaja r\u00e1pido que Sara no estar\u00e1 mucho tiempo en la cafeter\u00eda. Ir\u00e1 en treinta minutos y se tomar\u00e1 un caf\u00e9 r\u00e1pido. Quince minutos despu\u00e9s ya se habr\u00e1 ido.
