In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice the differences between Por and Para. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Prisa: rush
\nMensajero: courier
\nEncargar: to book
\nPor adelantado: in advance
\nCapricho: a treat
\nCaprichoso\/a: spoiled
\nPor tu culpa: your fault<\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation between two friends. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nRaquel: Voy para casa. Estoy esperando un paquete que viene por mensajero y me lo traen esta tarde.
\nFred: \u00bfUn paquete?
\nRaquel: S\u00ed, es mi nuevo tel\u00e9fono m\u00f3vil. En la tienda cuesta cuatrocientos euros y lo he comprado por solo cien.
\nFred: \u00bfPor cien euros? Eso es imposible. Seguro que es una copia.
\nRaquel: No, no. Es bueno. Conozco mucha gente que ha comprado m\u00f3viles por esta p\u00e1gina web.
\nFred: Pues para m\u00ed, este precio no es normal para un m\u00f3vil de cuatrocientos euros.
\nRaquel: Ya, es verdad que es una oferta incre\u00edble. Pero lo encargu\u00e9 por adelantado, por octubre creo.
\nFred: Ah bueno. Pero el m\u00f3vil que tienes ahora est\u00e1 bien, \u00bfno?
\nRaquel: S\u00ed, pero ya tiene un a\u00f1o. Es perfecto para mi hija y para m\u00ed el nuevo. Lo necesito.
