In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice describing probability in the past. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Intermediate Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Intermediate Spanish Lesson – Probability in the past<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation between between two friends. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alan: Hola Mar\u00eda.
\nMar\u00eda: Hola Alan \u00bfFuiste a la fiesta de Miguel ayer?
\nAlan: S\u00ed.\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no viniste? Lo pasamos muy bien.
\nMar\u00eda: No pude. Ten\u00eda que trabajar. \u00bfFue Sara?
\nAlan: Creo que no. No la vi.
\nMar\u00eda: Qu\u00e9 raro. Me dijo que seguramente ir\u00eda. Puede que tuviera que estudiar. Tiene ex\u00e1menes pronto.
\nAlan: S\u00ed, puede ser. Tampoco vi a tu hermano Antonio. Me dijo que vendr\u00eda.
\nMar\u00eda: \u00bfS\u00ed? Seguramente se le olvidara. Es muy despistado.
\nAlan: \u00bfOlvidar una fiesta? Un poco raro \u00bfno?
\nMar\u00eda: Tal vez tuviera otros planes. Ya sabes c\u00f3mo es Antonio. Conoce a tanta gente que hace muchos planes.
