In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice using Spanish Passive sentences. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Intermediate Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Intermediate Spanish Lesson – Spanish Passive Sentences<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation between between two friends. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Irene: Hola Robert \u00bfViste las noticias anoche?
\nRobert: No, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9?
\nIrene: Ayer unos cuadros del museo de Bellas Artes fueron robados.
\nRobert: \u00bfQu\u00e9 dices?
\nIrene: S\u00ed, s\u00ed. Una de las entradas de incendio fue forzada y un mont\u00f3n de cuadros han desaparecido.
\nRobert: Voy a mirar en mi m\u00f3vil a ver si encuentro alguna noticia sobre el tema.
\nIrene: S\u00ed, mira. Aqu\u00ed tengo una noticia de hace media hora. \u00a1Oh! Los ladrones han sido arrestados.
\nRobert: Bueno, los supuestos ladrones. Nada est\u00e1 probado todav\u00eda Irene.
\nIrene: Es verdad, pero los cuadros han sido encontrados en su cami\u00f3n, as\u00ed que no hay muchas dudas.
\nRobert: S\u00ed, es verdad.
\nIrene: Aqu\u00ed pone que los ladrones han sido interrogados por cuatro horas esta ma\u00f1ana y que han sido llevados a la c\u00e1rcel. Los cuadros est\u00e1n siendo analizados, para ver si est\u00e1n en buen estado.
\nRobert: Bueno, pues el misterio ya est\u00e1 resuelto.
\nIrene: S\u00ed, eso parece.<\/p>\n
