In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice the different uses of Parecer and Parecerse. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Intermediate Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. Now play the audio to listen a conversation between between two friends. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mark: Ana \u00bfQu\u00e9 te parece si vamos de vacaciones a otro pa\u00eds este a\u00f1o? Siempre nos quedamos en Espa\u00f1a.
\nAna: \u00bfA otro pa\u00eds? \u00bfPero por qu\u00e9? En Espa\u00f1a tenemos el clima perfecto, la comida perfecta, la cultura perfecta, somos perfectos. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 ir de vacaciones a otro pa\u00eds?
\nMark: Bueno, bueno\u2026 todo no es tan perfecto aqu\u00ed. Me parece que est\u00e1s exagerando.
\nAna: Pareces enfadado Mark.
\nMark: \u00bfEnfadado? No, estoy aburrido de quedarme aqu\u00ed todos los veranos.
\nAna: Te pareces mucho a tu padre. Todo os parece mal.
\nMark: \u00bfQu\u00e9 dices?
\nAna: \u00bfVes? Me parece fatal esa actitud que tienes. Eres un desagradecido. Este pa\u00eds te ha dado trabajo y una familia.
\nMark: \u00bfPero Ana? \u00bfDe qu\u00e9 est\u00e1s hablando? Me parece que no me entiendes para nada.
\nAna: Te entiendo perfectamente. No te gusta Espa\u00f1a. Pues ala, vete de vuelta a tu maravillosa Inglaterra. Con ese clima pat\u00e9tico y esa comida pat\u00e9tica.
\nMark: Pero Ana, no estoy hablando de Inglaterra. \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no vamos a un pa\u00eds parecido a Espa\u00f1a? \u00bfQu\u00e9 te parece Italia?
\nAna: Mmmm.. Italia suena bien. D\u00e9jame que lo piense.
