In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice different ways to add emphasis in Spanish. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Advanced Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Advanced Spanish Lesson – Ways to add emphasis in Spanish<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation between between two friends. Can you understand what they are saying? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jimmy: \u00bfViste el programa de famosos bailando anoche?
\nTeresa: S\u00ed, lo veo todas las semanas. \u00bfQui\u00e9n es tu favorito?
\nJimmy: Me gusta mucho c\u00f3mo baila la actriz de telenovelas. El que no me gusta nada es el futbolista.
\nTeresa: S\u00ed, tienes raz\u00f3n, es mal\u00edsimo. Es un milagro que no se haya ido esta semana, la verdad.
\nJimmy: Lo que es un milagro es que haya entrado en el programa. Es realmente p\u00e9simo.
\nTeresa: Pues para m\u00ed, el que es realmente p\u00e9simo es el presentador de televisi\u00f3n.
\nJimmy: \u00bfEn serio? A m\u00ed es el que m\u00e1s me divierte.
\nTeresa: Te divierte, pero no baila bien. Simplemente hace el tonto y entretiene. Si le han elegido para bailar es solo porque es muy famoso y da m\u00e1s audiencia al programa.
\nJimmy: Puede que tengas raz\u00f3n.
\nTeresa: \u00bfQu\u00e9 te parece la gimnasta?
\nJimmy: Es la que mejor baila. Pero donde deber\u00eda estar no es en este programa.
\nTeresa: \u00bfD\u00f3nde deber\u00eda estar?
\nJimmy: Pues en un programa bailando profesionalmente. Es demasiado buena para este programa. Seguro que va a ganar.
\nTeresa: Bueno, bueno. Los que bailan mejor no son siempre los que ganan.<\/p>\n
