In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice some expressions from Latin used in the Spanish language. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Advanced Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation. Can you understand what is being said? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Robert: Hola Mar\u00eda \u00bfQu\u00e9 tal fue tu presentaci\u00f3n ayer?<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda: Pues regular. Me qued\u00e9 in albis al de diez minutos. Mi mente estaba completamente en blanco. Carla intervino un par de minutos e ipso facto mi cerebro volvi\u00f3 a funcionar. <\/p>\n

Robert: \u00bfSobre qu\u00e9 era la presentaci\u00f3n?<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda: A grosso modo era una descripci\u00f3n detallada de las ventas de la empresa este a\u00f1o y de qu\u00e9 estrategia debemos seguir para aumentar las ventas.<\/p>\n

Robert: Suena muy aburrido, Mar\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda: Mmmm, que quede inter nos pero yo tambi\u00e9n lo pienso. Odio mi trabajo si te soy sincera. El otro d\u00eda mi jefe me pill\u00f3 in fraganti dici\u00e9ndole a un compa\u00f1ero que necesito buscar otro trabajo m\u00e1s gratificante.<\/p>\n

Robert: \u00bfEn serio? \u00bfY te dijo algo?<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda: No, no dijo nada pero ya es vox populi que no le caigo nada bien y que quiere despedirme. Para trabajar en esta empresa ser ambicioso es una condici\u00f3n sine qua non y yo no soy as\u00ed. Necesito ayudar a personas no intentar que gasten dinero con los productos de esta empresa.<\/p>\n

Robert: S\u00ed, creo que necesitas un cambio. Una persona como t\u00fa es rara avis en la empresa donde trabajas. No es tu sitio.<\/p>\n

Mar\u00eda: Tienes raz\u00f3n. Voy a buscar otro trabajo. Gracias por escucharme Robert.<\/p>\n

Robert: De nada Mar\u00eda.<\/p>\n
