His works have been translated into more than 20 languages and inspire the creation of many films. Nowadays, she is one of the main representatives of magical realism with her novels, which are often based upon historical events and personal experiences with a twist of supernatural elements. Ruiz Zaf\u00f3n has been honored with numerous international awards, due in part to the way he draws his readers\u2019 attention to layers upon layers of intriguing landscapes and scenarios. His works have been published in more than 40 countries and translated into over 30 languages.
