In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice using some popular colloquial Spanish expressions. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Advanced Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation. Can you understand what is being said? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Natalia: Lewis \u00bfqu\u00e9 te parece Armando el nuevo profesor de historia?<\/p>\n

Lewis: Uf, no s\u00e9. Habla un poco raro, \u00bfno?<\/p>\n

Natalia: S\u00ed, la verdad es que se le entiende a duras penas.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Yo voy a su clase de mala gana. Me aburre mucho.<\/p>\n

Natalia: Ya, bueno. \u00bfHas le\u00eddo el libro que nos recomend\u00f3? Yo me lo termin\u00e9 ayer.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Qu\u00e9 r\u00e1pido \u00bfno?<\/p>\n

Natalia: Es que es super interesante. Me lo he le\u00eddo de cabo a rabo en dos d\u00edas.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Pues yo me lo estoy leyendo a rega\u00f1adientes. No me gusta mucho la historia la verdad.<\/p>\n

Natalia: Ya me he dado cuenta. Te he visto hacer pasatiempos a hurtadillas en la clase de historia. Alg\u00fan d\u00eda Armando te pillar\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Y t\u00fa me defender\u00e1s \u00bfno? Eres su alumna favorita, seguro. <\/p>\n

Natalia: Claro, hombre. Te defender\u00e9 a capa y espada. Pero si te pilla con los pasatiempos no hay mucho que defender, la verdad.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Es que no me gusta estudiar a la fuerza. <\/p>\n

Natalia: Es que elegiste la asignatura a ciegas.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Ya, pensaba que ser\u00eda interesante. Pero he cambiado de opini\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Natalia: Bueno, el a\u00f1o que viene piensa bien lo que quieres estudiar y no elijas a tontas y a locas.<\/p>\n

Lewis: Vale Natalia.<\/p>\n
