Earlier this month, I finally got to experience D\u00eda de Muertos in Mexico. If you missed my first post with a highlight video, be sure to check it out here<\/a>. Today I’d like to show you D\u00eda de Muertos en fotos<\/strong> (Day of the Dead in photos). They say una imagen dice m\u00e1s que mil palabras<\/strong> (a photo tells a thousand words), so I guess this post will say a lot! Here are some of my favorite photos with a description en espa\u00f1ol so you can learn about the holiday while learning Spanish at the same time.<\/p>\n

\nThe calavera<\/em> (skull) is a symbol of Day of the Dead.<\/p>\n

Puedes comer calaveras de alfe\u00f1ique o chocolate<\/strong>.
\nYou can eat skulls of sugar or chocolate.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Hay muchas cosas interesantes en venta en la calle<\/strong>.
\nThere are many interesting things for sale in the street.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

El Jard\u00edn Centenario en Coyoac\u00e1n es un buen lugar para celebrar el D\u00eda de Muertos<\/strong>.
\nThe Centennial Garden in Coyoacan is a good place to celebrate Day of the Dead.<\/p>\n

La calaca es otro s\u00edmbolo importante de la fiesta<\/strong>.
\nThe calaca<\/em> (skeleton) is another important symbol of the holiday.<\/p>\n

La casa de Emilio Fern\u00e1ndez dedica su megaofrenda de D\u00eda de Muertos a difuntos c\u00e9lebres del entretenimiento y la cultura mexicana<\/strong>.
\nThe house of Emilio Fernandez dedicates its “megaofrenda” of Day of the Dead to deceased celebrities of Mexican entertainment and culture.<\/p>\n

\nA new tradition is the big parade.<\/p>\n

Miles de personas esperan para entrar al parque<\/strong>.

As you can see, there’s a lot going on for Day of the Dead in Mexico City! If you have the chance to attend the Mexican capital for the holiday next year, I highly recommend it. Be sure to spend at least 3-4 days there so you can take it all in.
