In this Spanish lesson we are going to practice expressing probability with future and conditional tenses in Spanish. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

This lesson is part of a Spanish course that practices the grammar and vocabulary first introduced in my Advanced Spanish course posted here on the Transparent Language blog. Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. The transcript to the audio will be given at the end of the post but please try not to look at it until you have tried playing and understanding the audio a few times. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Now play the audio to listen a conversation. Can you understand what is being said? Play the audio a few times before you look at the transcript. Don’t worry if you don’t understand every single thing the two people are saying. Try to catch whichever words you can and then try to piece things together to work out what is being said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Marta: Hola Phil \u00bfhas visto a Paula?<\/p>\n

Phil: No, pero me imagino que estar\u00e1 en la biblioteca. Tiene un examen de ingl\u00e9s ma\u00f1ana.<\/p>\n

Marta: Ah vale. \u00bfC\u00f3mo lo sabes?<\/p>\n

Phil: Porque ayer la vi y me dijo que la ayudara a practicar ingl\u00e9s. Quedamos en la cafeter\u00eda a las cinco pero no vino.<\/p>\n

Marta: \u00bfNo fue? \u00a1Qu\u00e9 raro! Estar\u00eda todav\u00eda en clase. A Paula no se le suele olvidar nada.<\/p>\n

Phil: La llam\u00e9 por tel\u00e9fono y no me contest\u00f3. <\/p>\n

Marta: Estar\u00eda estudiando. Cuando estudia siempre apaga el m\u00f3vil para concentrarse mejor.<\/p>\n

Phil: S\u00ed, puede ser.<\/p>\n

Marta: O la habr\u00edan llamado sus padres para que fuera a casa. Su abuela est\u00e1 viviendo con ellos y est\u00e1 enferma. As\u00ed que Paula tiene que ayudar bastante en casa.<\/p>\n

Phil: Ah, entiendo. <\/p>\n

Marta: Bueno, voy a la biblioteca a ver si la veo. Si ves a Marcos \u00bfle puedes decir que estoy en la biblioteca? <\/p>\n

Phil: Vale. Viene de su clase de guitarra \u00bfno?<\/p>\n

Marta: S\u00ed. Hab\u00eda quedado con \u00e9l hace media hora. Pero llega tarde. Se habr\u00e1 quedado hablando con su profesor. Le encanta hablar de m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n

Phil: S\u00ed, es verdad. Estar\u00e1 con su profesor.<\/p>\n
