In this Spanish lesson we are going to look at and practice the many uses of the Spanish word Hombre. As usual, first we will review some relevant grammar and vocabulary and then see if you can follow a short listening. <\/p>\n

Let’s test your listening comprehension and see if you can understand a short audio in Spanish. Carla: \u00a1Hombre Mark! \u00a1Cu\u00e1nto tiempo sin verte! \u00bfHas estado de vacaciones?<\/p>\n

Mark: \u00a1No hombre! He estado trabajando d\u00eda y noche, por eso no me has visto. Llevo a\u00f1os sin irme de vacaciones.<\/p>\n

Carla: Hombre, no te pases. Estuviste el a\u00f1o pasado en Londres, \u00bfno?<\/p>\n

Mark: Fui a Londres para ver a mi familia, eso no son vacaciones.<\/p>\n

Carla: S\u00ed hombre claro. \u00bfY esas fotos que me ense\u00f1aste viendo musicales y en el bar con tus amigos?<\/p>\n

Mark: Bueno, es que tengo un par de amigos en Londres y aprovech\u00e9 para verlos. Pero no fueron vacaciones realmente. Necesito irme de vacaciones de verdad. Al Caribe por ejemplo, para relajarme, que estoy super estresado con el trabajo.<\/p>\n

Carla: \u00a1Pues vete hombre! Seguro que tienes un mont\u00f3n de dinero ahorrado. Reserva unas vacaciones para este verano, venga.<\/p>\n

Mark: Ya tienes raz\u00f3n. El problema es que no tengo a nadie con qui\u00e9n ir y no me gusta viajar solo. \u00bfVendr\u00edas conmigo?<\/p>\n

Carla: \u00a1Claro hombre! Voy contigo encantada. D\u00e9jame un mes para que ahorre un poco m\u00e1s y reservamos las vacaciones. \u00bfVamos dos semanas al Caribe?<\/p>\n

Mark: S\u00ed, dos semanas es perfecto. Tengo que pedirle vacaciones a mi jefe pero seguro que me da las fechas que quiera, es un buen hombre.<\/p>\n

Carla: Eres su hombre de confianza, y trabajas much\u00edsimo seguro que no tienes problema. Yo hablar\u00e9 con mi jefa tambi\u00e9n, pero en verano siempre hay menos trabajo as\u00ed que seguro que puedo coger las vacaciones cuando quiera.<\/p>\n

Mark: \u00a1Qu\u00e9 bien! \u00bfSeguro que quieres venir conmigo?<\/p>\n

Carla: \u00a1S\u00ed hombre! Claro que s\u00ed. No tengo ning\u00fan plan para este verano y me apetece mucho.<\/p>\n

Mark: Perfecto.<\/p>\n
