The term mariachi comes from the Coca Indians and it means &#8220;music&#8221;. It&#8217;s considered one of the most romantic music forms all over the world and in a mariachi band you can find violins, trumpets, a guitar, a <em>vihuela <\/em>(typical mariachi guitar) and a <em>guitarr\u00f3n <\/em>(a big guitar); sometimes a harp and a <em>guitarra de golpe<\/em> (typical Mexican guitar) are also used.<\/p>\n<p>Mariachi players dress as <em>charros<\/em>, typical Mexican cowboys, but a little fancier. The <em>charro <\/em>wear is made up of boots, a big <em>sombrero <\/em>(hat), a <em>mo\u00f1o <\/em>(lace bow), <em>corbata <\/em>(tie), a <em>chaleco <\/em>(vest) or <em>chaqueta corta<\/em> (boleto jacket), <em>pantalones<\/em> <em>bien ajustados<\/em> (really tight pants) with a <em>correa ancha<\/em> (wide strap), cuffs and shiny buttons alongside the pants.<\/p>\n<p>Some of Mexico&#8217;s most popular mariachi songs are <em>Las Ma\u00f1anitas, Cielito Lindo, M\u00e9xico Lindo<\/em> and <em>El Rey<\/em>.
