Las Regiones Geogr\u00e1ficas del Ecuador<\/h2>\n

First up, let’s learn about the different regions of the country. Ecuador tiene cuatro regiones geogr\u00e1ficas principales<\/strong> (Ecuador has four main geographic regions):<\/p>\n

  • El Oriente (la selva amaz\u00f3nica) al este<\/strong> (the Oriente (the Amazon rainforest) to the east)<\/li>\n
  • La Sierra (cordillera andina) en el centro<\/strong> (the Sierra (Andean mountain range) in the center)<\/li>\n
  • La Costa (costa pac\u00edfica) al oeste<\/strong> (the Coast (Pacific coast) to the west)<\/li>\n
  • La Insular, donde est\u00e1n las Islas Gal\u00e1pagos<\/strong> (the Insular, where the Galapagos Islands are)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    For a relatively small country, Ecuador sure packs a punch when it comes to the diversity of its landscapes! It’s possible to visit all of these different regions even on a short trip. I wish I could say we visited them all in our month there, but we only made it to two (La Sierra y La Insular).<\/p>\n
