Este es el tercer carnaval m\u00e1s grande despu\u00e9s de R\u00edo de Janeiro y Nueva Orleans. M\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de personas vienen a la ciudad cada a\u00f1o. Es la celebraci\u00f3n m\u00e1s antigua de su tipo en M\u00e9xico. Siempre ocurre en los seis d\u00edas anteriores al mi\u00e9rcoles de ceniza. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Carnaval of Mazatlan is one of the biggest parties in the world. This is the third-largest Carnival after Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans. Over one million people come to the city every year. It&#8217;s the oldest celebration of its kind in Mexico. It always occurs in the six days before Ash Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hay muchos eventos diferentes a lo largo de la semana. El jueves hay la coronaci\u00f3n del Rey de la Alegr\u00eda y el Baile de Fantas\u00eda. Los Juegos Florales son el viernes, seguidos de la coronaci\u00f3n de la reina del Carnaval el s\u00e1bado. Esa noche es la Quema del Mal Humor, que suele ser un pol\u00edtico impopular.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many different events throughout the week. On Thursday there&#8217;s the coronation of the King of Joy and the Masquerade Ball. The Flower Games are on Friday, followed by the coronation of the queen of Carnival on Saturday. Hay muchos vendedores de comidas y bebidas, como margaritas y tacos. \u00a1Es una gran fiesta toda la noche!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many people come to the Malecon to see the fireworks display and listen to <em>banda<\/em> music. There are many vendors selling food and drinks, like margaritas and tacos. It&#8217;s a huge party all night long!<\/p>\n<p><strong>El domingo se realiza el Primer Desfile de Carnaval con cientos de artistas y decenas de carrozas. Cada a\u00f1o tiene un tema diferente, como dragones y alebrijes. Ellos son criaturas m\u00edticas en M\u00e9xico. Es un evento muy interesante que es divertido para todas las edades.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On Sunday there is the Inaugural Parade with hundreds of performers and dozens of floats. Every year has a different theme, such as dragons and <em>alebrijes<\/em>. They are mythical creatures in Mexico. Fue un viaje largo que dur\u00f3 ocho horas. Pasamos algunas noches en la ciudad para el Carnaval. Alquilamos un hermoso apartamento en la Isla de La Piedra. Ten\u00eda una bonita terraza y un jacuzzi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We took the bus to Mazatlan from Puerto Vallarta. It was a long trip that took eight hours. We spent a few nights in the city for Carnival. We rented a beautiful apartment on Stone Island. Por la tarde tomamos el ferry al centro de la ciudad para explorar. Puedes sentir el ambiente del Carnaval donde quiera que vayas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During the day, we relaxed on the beach and ate delicious seafood. In the afternoon we took the ferry to the city center to explore. You can feel the Carnival atmosphere everywhere you go.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Por la noche, fuimos al Malec\u00f3n. Comimos muchos tacos, bebimos margaritas con mucho tequila y escuchamos m\u00fasica en vivo. Aunque no nos gusta mucho la m\u00fasica de banda, nos divertimos mucho. \u00a1El carnaval en Mazatl\u00e1n es una gran experiencia y te recomendamos que lo pruebes!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the evening, we went to the Malecon. We ate lots of tacos, drank margaritas with lots of tequila, and listened to live music. Although we don&#8217;t like <em>banda<\/em> music very much, we had a lot of fun.
