{"id":1722,"date":"2010-11-11T21:29:10","date_gmt":"2010-11-11T21:29:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/spanish\/?p=1722"},"modified":"2010-11-11T21:29:10","modified_gmt":"2010-11-11T21:29:10","slug":"the-food-pyramid-en-espanol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/spanish\/the-food-pyramid-en-espanol\/","title":{"rendered":"The Food Pyramid, en espa\u00f1ol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yeah, we are in the age of eating healthy food, lots of people are obese and, as I&#8217;m very concerned about you, this post will be about the food pyramid.<\/p>\n<p>So let&#8217;s start with the first group of foods, el grupo de pan, arroz y pastas, which you can eat 6 to 11 portions a day: <em>pan<\/em> (bread), <em>fideos <\/em>(noodles), <em>arroz <\/em>(rice), <em>patatas <\/em>(potatoes), <em>harina <\/em>(flour), <em>galletas <\/em>(cookies), <em>cereales <\/em>(cereals), <em>pasta <\/em>(pasta), etc.<\/p>\n<p>The second group is the fruit group, 2 to 4 portions a day: <em>pi\u00f1a <\/em>(pineapple), <em>pl\u00e1tano <\/em>(banana), <em>naranja <\/em>(orange), <em>manzana <\/em>(apple), <em>melocot\u00f3n <\/em>(peach), <em>uva <\/em>(grape), <em>mel\u00f3n <\/em>(melon), <em>sand\u00eda <\/em>(watermelon), <em>ciruela <\/em>(plum), <em>higo <\/em>(fig), <em>papaya <\/em>(papaya), etc.<\/p>\n<p>The third group is the vegetables group, which you can eat 3 to 5 portions a day: <em>repollo <\/em>(cabbage), <em>lechuga <\/em>(lettuce), <em>guisantes <\/em>(peas), <em>espinacas <\/em>(spinach), <em>berro <\/em>(watercress), <em>tomate <\/em>(tomato), <em>remolacha <\/em>(beetroot), <em>zanahoria <\/em>(carrot), <em>cebolla <\/em>(onion), <em>ajo <\/em>(garlic), <em>r\u00e1bano <\/em>(radish), <em>jud\u00edas verdes<\/em> (green beans), <em>perejil <\/em>(parsley)<\/p>\n<p>The fourth group is the one with <em>carnes <\/em>(meat), <em>huevos <\/em>(eggs), <em>nueces <\/em>(nuts), <em>frijoles <\/em>(beans), <em>leche <\/em>(milk), <em>yogur<\/em> (yogurt) and <em>queso <\/em>(cheese), 2 to 3 portions every day: <em>queso <\/em>(cheese), <em>yogur <\/em>(yogurt), <em>leche <\/em>(milk), <em>carne de cerdo<\/em> (pork), <em>pescado <\/em>(fish), <em>carne de res<\/em> (beef), <em>pollo <\/em>(chicken), <em>jam\u00f3n <\/em>(ham), <em>salchicha <\/em>(sausage), <em>longaniza <\/em>(spicy pork sausage), <em>huevos <\/em>(eggs), etc.<\/p>\n<p>The last group is the one you need to eat the least which includes fats, oils and sweets: <em>az\u00facar <\/em>(sugar), <em>mantequilla<\/em> (butter), <em>aceite <\/em>(oil), <em>mermelada <\/em>(jam, jelly), <em>caramelos <\/em>(sweets), etc.<\/p>\n<p>So, are your eating habits good?
