Hoy vamos a explicar uno de los usos de este tiempo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In previous lessons we have seen the form of the Presente de Subjuntivo. Today, we are going to analyse one of the uses of this tense. We use the presente de subjuntivo when expressing hopes and wishes. We use it when the person refered to in the sentence is not the same person as the one who is hoping.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<p><strong>VERBO ESPERAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Esperar que + subjuntivo: To hope that<br \/>\nEspero que ganes mucho dinero: I hope you win a lot of money<br \/>\nEspero ganar mucho dinero: I hope I win a lot of money<\/p>\n<p><strong>VERBO QUERER<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Querer que + subjuntivo: To want that<br \/>\nQuiero que ganes mucho dinero: I want you to win a lot of money<br \/>\nQuiero ganar mucho dinero: I want to win a lot of money<\/p>\n<p><strong>VERBO DESEAR<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Desear que + subjuntivo: To desire\/wish that<br \/>\nDeseo que ganes mucho dinero: I desire that you win a lot of money<br \/>\nDeseo ganar mucho dinero: I desire to win a lot of money<\/p>\n<p><strong> OJAL\u00c1<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ojal\u00e1 (que)+ subjuntive: I hope\/wish<br \/>\nOjala (que) ganes mucho dinero: I hope you win a lot of money<br \/>\nOjal\u00e1 (que) gane mucho dinero: I hope I win a lot of money<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUE + SUBJUNTIVO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Que te mejores: I hope you get better<br \/>\nQue cumplas muchos m\u00e1s: I wish you many happy returns<br \/>\nQue lo pases bien: I hope you have a good time<br \/>\nQue tengas suerte: I wish you good luck<br \/>\nQue aproveche: I hope you enjoy your meal<br \/>\nQue todo salga bien: I hope everything goes well<br \/>\nQue tengas buen viaje: I hope you have a good trip<br \/>\nQue duermas bien: I hope you sleep well<br \/>\nQue te vaya bien: I wish you all the best<br \/>\nQue te sea leve: I hope it\u2019s not too bad<br \/>\nQue se\u00e1is muy felices: I hope you are very happy<br \/>\nQue te diviertas: I hope you have fun<\/p>\n<p><strong>It takes some time to learn and use the Spanish subjuntivo properly, but as you can see from the examples we have discussed today it features a lot in everyday conversation.
