01. acordarse de alguien<\/strong> – besides meaning to remember someone it can also be an expression of threat, like “I’m going to hunt you down”, or something like this.<\/p>\n

\u00a1Te acordar\u00e1s de m\u00ed! <\/em>– I’m going to hunt you down!
\n\u00a1Ese se va a acordar de m\u00ed! <\/em>– That guy’s going to get a piece of me!<\/p>\n

02. acostarse con las gallinas <\/strong>– to go to bed very early<\/p>\n

Mi abuela se acuesta con las gallinas.<\/em> – My grandma goes to bed very early.
\n\u00bfRealmente tienes que acostarte con las gallinas?<\/em> – Do you really have to go to bed so early?<\/p>\n

03. agarrarse a un clavo ardiendo<\/strong> – to do anything to get out of a bad situation, to be clutching at straws<\/p>\n

Se agarr\u00f3 a la oportunidad como un clavo ardiendo.<\/em> – He was clutching at straws for that opportunity.
\nQuiero trabajar, y no me importa que sea en turno de noche; con tal de trabajar, me agarro a un clavo ardiendo. <\/em>– I want to work, and it doesn’t matter if it’s night shift; as long as I’m working, I’d do anything.<\/p>\n

04. aguar la fiesta<\/strong> – to spoil somebody’s fun<\/p>\n

Se pone tan serio que siempre agua la fiesta. <\/em>– He always gets to serious and ends up spoiling everybody’s fun.
\nNos la est\u00e1bamos pasando bomba pero lleg\u00f3 mi madre y nos agu\u00f3 la fiesta.<\/em> – We were having a blast but my mother arrived and spoiled our fun.<\/p>\n

05. ajustarle las cuentas (a alguien)<\/strong> – to get back at someone; to get even with someone<\/p>\n

Si nos ha hecho una faena, le ajustaremos las cuentas.<\/em> – If he played us, we’re going to get even.
\nNos sirvieron mal y les ajustamos las cuentas, no volvimos m\u00e1s a comer all\u00e1.<\/em> – We were badly served and we took action and never went back there to eat.<\/p>\n
