Let\u2019s take a look at some of them:<\/p>\n<p>1. estar + gerund \u2013 ongoing action -&gt; Estoy buscando mi libro. (I am looking for my book.)<\/p>\n<p>2. seguir + gerund \u2013 continuity -&gt; Sigo dando clases de espa\u00f1ol. (I keep teaching Spanish.)<\/p>\n<p>3. Deber + infinitive \u2013 moral obligation, need -&gt; Debes agradecerle a tu maestro el haberte ayudado. (You must thank your teacher for helping you.)<\/p>\n<p>4. Deber de + infinitive \u2013 strong assumption -&gt; Su marido la dej\u00f3 por otra, as\u00ed que debe de sentirse sola. (Her husband left her for another woman so she must be lonely.)<\/p>\n<p>5. Tener que + infinitive \u2013 personal obligation -&gt; Tengo que estar en la escuela a las 2. (I have to be at school at 2.)<\/p>\n<p>6. Haber que + infinitive \u2013 impersonal obligation -&gt; Hay que subir las escaleras para llegar a su oficina. (You have to go up the stairs to go to his office.)<\/p>\n<p>7. Echar a \/ ponerse a \/ romper a + infinitive \u2013 sudden action -&gt; Ech\u00f3 a re\u00edr. (He burst into laughter). Rompieron a llorar. (They started crying.) Estaba tan nerviosa que se puso a hablar y nadie pudo callarla.
