There are only a few DOs and DON&#8217;Ts, so they will be easy for you to remember.<\/p>\n<p>You should always write a capital letter in the following cases:<\/p>\n<p>-At the beginning of a text or sentence (after every full stop, exclamation mark, or question mark).<\/p>\n<p>-After a colon, if you&#8217;re quoting word by word.<\/p>\n<p><em>Me dijo: &#8220;No pienso venir m\u00e1s.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211;<\/em>After the heading in a letter or email.<\/p>\n<p><em>Querida Teresa:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>He recibido tu carta&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211;<\/em>People&#8217;s names and surnames:<\/p>\n<p><em>Mar\u00eda, Miguel \u00c1ngel, <\/em>Santiago Garc\u00eda L\u00f3pez&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>-Proper names of animals and unique locations, such as countries, rivers, mountains, etc.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mi gata Nara, Espa\u00f1a, el r\u00edo Duero, los Pirineos&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Articles and adjectives when they are part of a proper noun.<\/p>\n<p><em>Buenos Aires, Estados Unidos, El Salvador, Dos Hermanas<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-A person&#8217;s title, when the name of the person is not mentioned.<\/p>\n<p><em>El Papa, el Presidente del Gobierno, el rey Juan Carlos&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Abbreviated common titles.<\/p>\n<p><em>D.,Sr.,D\u00f1a.,Sra.,Vd., usted&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Names of companies and institutions.<\/p>\n<p><em>el Tribunal Supremo, el Museo Nacional del Prado, Caja Granada&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>-Titles of books, movies, and other works of art, unless the title is too long, in which case only the first word will be capitalized.<\/p>\n<p><em>El Quijote, El Guernica, La guerra de las galaxias&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211;<\/em>Finally, remember that, in Spanish, days of the week, months, and seasons are not capitalized.<\/p>\n<p><em>lunes, martes, enero, febrero, primavera, verano&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I hope this was useful.
