Let&#8217;s take a look at some &#8220;heavenly&#8221; expressions that are used in Spanish.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Como Dios me dio a entende<\/strong>r &#8211; Following my intuition &#8211; <em>No ten\u00eda ni idea de como montar una tienda de campa\u00f1a, as\u00ed que lo hice como Dios me dio a entender.<\/em> (I had no idea how to set up a camping tent but I did it following my intuition.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a1Vaya por Dios!<\/strong> &#8211; Oh my God! (to say how sorry you are) &#8211; \u00bf<em>Que tu novio se ha ca\u00eddo por las escaleras? \u00a1Vaya por Dios!<\/em> (Your boyfriend fell down the stairs. Oh my God!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dios te oiga<\/strong> &#8211; From your lips to God&#8217;s ears &#8211; Dios te oiga<em>, porque sabes que me hace mucha falta ese empleo.<\/em> (From your lips to God&#8217;s ears, because you know how much I need this job.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sin encomendarse ni a Dios ni al diablo<\/strong> &#8211; without thinking, recklessly &#8211; <em>Con lo fri\u00edsima que estaba el agua, se tir\u00f3 sin encomendarse ni a Dios ni al diablo.<\/em> (Although the water was freezing he jumped in, without thinking.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>A la buena de Dios<\/strong> &#8211; any which way, carelessly &#8211; <em>Este trabajo necesita mucha atenci\u00f3n y paciencia. No se puede hacer a la buena de Dios.<\/em> (This job requires a lot of attention and patience. You can&#8217;t do it any which way.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Con Dios y ayuda<\/strong> &#8211; with God and help, meaning two factors contribute to someone being successful. &#8211; <em>Quiz\u00e1s con Dios y ayuda pueda conseguirlo.<\/em> (Maybe you&#8217;ll be able to do it, with God&#8217;s help.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Si Dios quiere<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; hopefully, God willing &#8211; <em>Si Dios quiere, saldr\u00e1 nuestro n\u00famero.<\/em> (Hopefully they&#8217;ll call our number.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sabe Dios<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; God knows &#8211; <em>Sabe Dios en qu\u00e9 estar\u00edas pensando cuando has o\u00eddo nudistas en lugar de budistas.<\/em> (God knows what went through your mind when you heard &#8220;nudist&#8221; instead of &#8220;Buddhist&#8221;.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gracias a Dios<\/strong> &#8211; Thank God &#8211; <em>Gracias a Dios que entr\u00e9, porque el agua estaba a punto de salirse de la ba\u00f1era.<\/em> (Thank God I went in because the bathtub was about to overflow.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Estar dejado de la mano de Dios<\/strong> &#8211; to be abandoned, not taken care of &#8211; <em>Este barrio siempre ha estado dejado de la mano de Dios.<\/em> (This neighborhood has always been abandoned.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Como Dios manda<\/strong> &#8211; correctly, in the right way &#8211; <em>Lleva un poquito m\u00e1s tiempo de esta forma, pero prefiero hacerlo como Dios manda.<\/em> (It takes a little longer this way, but I prefer to do it correctly.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dios dir\u00e1<\/strong> &#8211; God will tell what&#8217;s going to happen, I don&#8217;t want to think about it now. &#8211; <em>Ahora mismo estoy tan cansado que no puedo pensar en la soluci\u00f3n para esta cuesti\u00f3n. Ma\u00f1ana Dios dir\u00e1.<\/em> (Right now I&#8217;m so tired I can&#8217;t think of a solution to this problem.
