They can have the same meaning as in English, or not. A preposition is a \u00a0linking word used to introduce links to nouns, pronouns and phrases to other words in a sentence. A preposition usually indicates the temporal, spatial or logical relationship of its object to the rest of the sentence. (It&#8217;s near my house, I&#8217;ll go on foot.)<br \/>\nLlegar\u00e9 a las tres en punto. (I will be there at three o&#8217;clock.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>hacia (toward) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nCaminaban hacia la salida. (They were walking toward the exit.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>en (in, on, at, by)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00c9l vive en Madrid. (He lives in Madrid.)<br \/>\nEl libro est\u00e1 en la mesa. (The book is on the table.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>de (from, of, about)\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bfDe d\u00f3nde eres? (Where are you from?)<br \/>\nEl postre est\u00e1 hecho de hojaldre. (The dessert is made of puff pastry.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>hasta (until, to, as far as, up to)<\/strong><br \/>\nNormalmente duermo hasta las 9 de la ma\u00f1ana. ( I usually sleep until 9 in the morning.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>desde (from, since)<\/strong><br \/>\nNo he comido desde ayer. (I haven&#8217;t eaten since yesterday)<br \/>\nMi madre se cay\u00f3 desde la escalera. (My mum fell from the stairs.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>sobre (on, upon, above, over, about)<\/strong><br \/>\nEs un art\u00edculo sobre medicina. (It is an article about medicine.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>bajo (under)<\/strong><br \/>\nMe encanta la canci\u00f3n \u201cTe llevo bajo mi piel\u201d. (I love the song \u201cI&#8217;ve got you under my skin\u201d.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>entre (between, among)<\/strong><br \/>\nLa gata est\u00e1 entre la mesa y el sof\u00e1. (The cat is between the table and the sofa).<br \/>\n\u00a1Estamos entre amigos! (We are among friends!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>con (with)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bfHas dejado a los ni\u00f1os con tu hermano? (Have you left the children with your brother?)<\/p>\n<p><strong>sin (without)<\/strong><br \/>\nNo puedo vivir sin ti. (I can&#8217;t live without you.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>contra (against)<\/strong><br \/>\n\u00bfEst\u00e1s contra el maltrato animal?
