1. carta blanca<\/strong> \u2013 full authority, blank check.<\/p>\n

Tienen carta blanca<\/em> para tomar las decisiones que encuentres correctas. [You have full authority to make the decisions you think are correct.]<\/em>
\nQuisiera que me dieras carta blanca<\/em> para hacer lo que se me antoje. [I’d like you to give me full authority to do what I feel like.]<\/em><\/p>\n

2. sobradas veces<\/strong> \u2013 many times, over and over again.<\/p>\n

Te he dicho eso sobradas veces<\/em>, pero no me escuchas. [I’ve told you this over and over again, but you won’t listen to me.]<\/em>
\nMe inviraton a quedarme sobradas veces<\/em> pero nunca pude aceptar. [They invited me to stay many times but I was never able to accept it.]<\/em><\/p>\n

3. perder cuidado<\/strong> \u2013 not to worry<\/p>\n

No pierdas cuidado<\/em>, yo misma me encargo de las bebidas. [Don’t worry, I will take care of the drinks myself.]<\/em>

5. salirse con la suya<\/strong> \u2013 to have one’s own way<\/p>\n

6. poner en su sitio<\/strong> – to put somebody in his\/her place<\/p>\n

Los empleados se quejaban mucho y el jefe les puso en su sitio<\/em>. [The employees were complaining a lot and the boss put them in their place.]<\/em>
\nPonte en tu sitio<\/em> y haz tu trabajo. [Put yourself in your place and do your work.]<\/em><\/p>\n

7. la comidilla del barrio<\/strong> – the talk of the town<\/p>\n

Esas dos son la comidilla de la vecindad<\/em>. [Those two are the talk of the town.]<\/em>
\nTodo el mundo comenta lo mismo, es la comidilla del barrio<\/em>. [Everybody’s talking about the same thing, it’s the talk of the neighborhood.]<\/em><\/p>\n

8. a eso de<\/strong> – at about<\/p>\n

A eso de<\/em> las ocho pasar\u00e9 por ti. [I will come to pick you up at about eight.]<\/em>
\nLleg\u00f3 a eso de<\/em> las nueve. [He arrived at around nine.]<\/em><\/p>\n
