{"id":5780,"date":"2012-10-18T10:31:17","date_gmt":"2012-10-18T14:31:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/spanish\/?p=5780"},"modified":"2014-07-15T15:00:25","modified_gmt":"2014-07-15T19:00:25","slug":"spanish-breakfast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.transparent.com\/spanish\/spanish-breakfast\/","title":{"rendered":"Spanish breakfast!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hey, everybody!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I arrived in the US yesterday and I&#8217;m staying at a Spanish friend&#8217;s house, in Acton, MA. I went out for an American dinner with ribs, fries and sweet-flavored beans (which I sort of liked). Then this morning David told me he was going to make me a real <em>desayuno espa\u00f1ol.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I kept wondering what that was and this is what I had:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8211; Tostadas (toasts)<br \/>\n&#8211; Caf\u00e9 negro (black coffee)<br \/>\n&#8211; A mix of tomato, garlic, oil and salt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So las tostadas and the caf\u00e9 negro were very familiar to me, because that&#8217;s what I usually have in Brazil too. However, the tomato mix was a first. You grate the garlic very thinly, the tomato more thickly and add oil and salt to flavor it. Then you spread this mix all over (go wild!) and eat it. It&#8217;s somewhat different from where I come from, but as I said yesterday, &#8220;When in Rome&#8230;&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I should have taken a picture of the whole thing (the one in the post is from <a href=\"http:\/\/recetasdecocinablog.com\/tostadas-con-tomate-a-las-finas-hiervas\/\">here<\/a>) but I when I realized I could blog about it it was too late, I had eaten all of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Well, have a great one, everybody!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Want more free resources to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.transparent.com\/learn-spanish\/\">learn Spanish<\/a>?
