These collocations are very important because they are part of everyday conversation and if you want to be fluent and speak good Spanish, learn them! Oh yeah!<\/p>\n<p>Are you ready to take your Spanish to a whole new level? Let&#8217;s do this!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener calor<\/strong> = to be hot.<br \/>\nTengo mucho calor. Quisiera estar en la playa. <em>[I&#8217;m very hot. I wish I was at the beach.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener cari\u00f1o a<\/strong> = to be fond of.<br \/>\n\u00c9l le tiene mucho cari\u00f1o a su hermana.<em> [He&#8217;s very fond of his sister.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener celos<\/strong> = to be jealous.<br \/>\nTiene mucho celos a su mujer. <em>[He&#8217;s very jealous of his wife.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener cuidado<\/strong> = to be careful.<br \/>\nTengas cuidado con el coche de tu pap\u00e1. <em>[Be careful with your dad&#8217;s car.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener la culpa<\/strong> = to be guilty, to be to blame.<br \/>\nYo no tengo la culpa.<em> [I&#8217;m not to blame.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener derecho<\/strong> = to have the right.<br \/>\nNo tienes derecho de decirme eso. <em>[You don&#8217;t have the right to tell me that.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener \u00e9xito<\/strong> = to be successful.<br \/>\nTuvo un gran \u00e9xito en su carrera.<em> [He was very successful in his career.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener fr\u00edo<\/strong> = to be cold. Hace mucho viento.<br \/>\nPor favor, cierra la ventana que tengo fr\u00edo.<em> [It&#8217;s very windy. Please, close the window because I&#8217;m cold.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener ganas de<\/strong> = to feel like doing something.<br \/>\nTengo ganas de salir hoy.<em> [I feel like going out tonight.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener hambre<\/strong> = to be hungry.<br \/>\nSi tienes hambre te hago algo para comer. <em>[If you&#8217;re hungry I&#8217;ll make you something to eat.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener miedo a + algo<\/strong> = to be afraid of something.<br \/>\nYo tengo miedo a los serpientes. <em>[I&#8217;m afraid of snakes.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener miedo de + hacer algo<\/strong> = to be afraid of doing something.<br \/>\nTiene miedo de volar. <em>[She&#8217;s afraid of flying.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener prisa<\/strong> = to be in a hurry.<br \/>\nTengo prisa porque he dormido demasiado. <em>[I&#8217;m in a hurry because I overslept.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener raz\u00f3n<\/strong> = to be right.<br \/>\nNo creo que el cliente tenga siempre raz\u00f3n. <em>[I don&#8217;t think the customer is always right.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener sed<\/strong> = to be thirsty.<br \/>\nTr\u00e1eme un vaso de agua que tengo sed. <em>[Bring me a glass of water because I&#8217;m thirsty.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener sue\u00f1o<\/strong> = to be sleepy.<br \/>\nNo he dormido mucho entonces tengo mucho sue\u00f1o.<em> [I haven&#8217;t slept a lot so I&#8217;m very sleepy.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener suerte<\/strong> = to be lucky.<br \/>\nNunca he ganado la loter\u00eda; no tengo mucha suerte. <em>[I have never won the lottery; I&#8217;m not very lucky.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tener verg\u00fcenza<\/strong> = to be ashamed.<br \/>\n\u00c9l no tiene verg\u00fcenza pues sigue haciendo lo mismo. <em>[He is not ashamed because he keeps on doing the same thing.]<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Want more free resources to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.transparent.com\/learn-spanish\/\">learn Spanish<\/a>?
