Today we are going to practice the Spanish Subjunctive Present tense with sentences that include indefinite pronouns or indefinite adjectives.

Answers to all tasks involved in this lesson will be given at the end of the post and you can also follow a link with this post to watch the original theory video lesson on the same topic.

To go back and watch the original video lesson please follow this link:

Intermediate theory video lesson 8

1. First let´s review Spanish indefinite pronouns and adjectives. I will say them in Spanish and I would like you to tell me what they mean in English:

Alguien
Ningún
Nada
Alguna
Nadie
Ninguna
Algo
Algún

2. Next, let´s make some questions using El Presente de Subjuntivo. Please, translate the following questions from English to Spanish, using El Presente de Subjuntivo when necessary:

Is there anybody here who has a car?
Is there anything to do?
Is there any book which has photos?

3. Let´s practice now some questions with the Spanish verbs “Saber”, “Conocer” and “Tener”. Please translate the following sentences from Spanish to English:

¿Sabes si hay alguien que hable francés aquí?
¿Conoces algún cantante que cante en español?
¿Tienes hermanos que se parezcan a ti?

Now from English to Spanish:

Have you got any book that is interesting?
Do you know anybody who comes here every week?
Do you know if there are people who want to practice Spanish here?

4. Now we will practice some negative sentences. I would like you to make some sentences in Spanish starting “No hay nadie que…” (There is nobody who…) I will say some second parts of the sentence with the verb in infinitive and you have to say the whole sentence changing the verb to El Presente de Subjuntivo. For example, if I say “querer hablar conmigo”. You should say “No hay nadie que quiera hablar conmigo”:

Hablar chino
Comer verduras
Estudiar español
Vivir en un ático
Bailar flamenco

5. Let´s do the same now with sentences starting with “Hay poco/poca…” You also will have to add a person or thing after poco or poca. For example, if I say “hablar español aquí” you could say “Hay pocas personas que hablen español aquí” or “Hay poca gente que hable español aquí” or “Hay pocos ingleses que hablen español aquí”. There are multiple options:

Escuchar a mí
Gustar el frío
Beber agua caliente
Ganar mucho dinero
Correr muy rápido

Esto es todo por hoy.

I hope you have enjoyed this practice lesson and that you are understanding, little by little, the finer details of using El Presente de Subjuntivo. Keep reviewing all the lessons in this course about the different uses of this tense, as there are many, and it takes a while for everything to properly sink in.

Have a great week y hasta la próxima semana!

I hope you are enjoying my weekly interactive Spanish lessons.
